Didn't have time to read everything, too tired/busy/trying to stay motivated for offline/work stuff. hugs to those in need and congratulations to everyone still battling through jobs :D

Pigpen we had a boiler problem in a housing association place last year, after 12 weeks of them not sorting it I contacted my local council, they gave me a number for someone at an environmental health type place to get it sorted, the following week I received a brand new boiler and problem was solved. Maybe your local council can help? Hope it gets sorted! x

  • Hi all - can't believe how much I have missed by doing my "big shop" last night and not feeling up to going on the laptop afterwards!!

I won't list all I haven't done :o - just been up since 5:30 (couldn't sleep) doing December budgets and online money transfers. Off to town as soon as dressed with sh/ trolley to do Home Bags and Al*i big shop and sort out finances further.

After lunch it's the kitchen's turn!!!! - hope it knows what's coming!!!!

Have a great day all and love 'n warm hugs to all who need them xx

Morning all and Happy Black Friday.

    Slept much better last night.

DS3 away to school, his teachers were all pleased with him at parents evening last night.

Off to the shower before I decide what I'm going to do today.

  • Hi all - a question for those on this thread and the Grocery Challenge please.

If you have a window cleaner do you pay him out of "other money" or your grocery challenge money? I think I am trying to stretch my grocery money too far!

I am so excited - have now got a window cleaner after 13 years -almost - of being here.:o One of our windows is above a sloping roof so daren't let a ladder only cleaner on it or else the tiles might break. You should see my windows they are brilliant!!! They match the insides now:j

Well I spent yesterday working. I did 10-8 minus an hour for lunch/tea. There's still admin stuff to do this morning and I'm off to the bank to pay in cash. Can I just pay in scottish notes with other money? :oI need to buy a bus pass if the shop has one, otherwise I'll have to buy one via my phone & that'll cost me more money. :( I'd rather have the one from the shop as it won't limit my bus choices and I'm already getting the minimum of 6 buses today so don't want to be standing around waiting for one I have a pass for!

    *deletes todays to do list*

Just got a text from DD's school that its closed today due to unforeseen circumstances. :wall: That means my plans need to change as they involved getting some Xmas stuff for her. Still have to get the bus everywhere, but I need to cross some shops off my list now. She left her PE kit in her locker (I'm sick of telling her to bring it home on a Thursday after her last PE lesson of the week) so thats going to be festering until she can bring it home on Monday as they can't get in to school at all. And she has PE first lesson Monday morning. Apparently there's some sort of electrical problem which means the gates probably aren't working either.

I best go get my breakfast. At least now I don't have to worry about being home for around 4. :D

Pigpen, go to the homebuying renting and selling board for further info.......
I remember reading that it is law to ensure that tenants have heating. Who does she rent it from and why does she have no heating?
I *believe* she can contact the council for advice (maybe environmental health) but you can have a look at shelters website for good information.

ETA; Your message box is full :)

    Thank you.

And yes I know.. I keep it that way after receiving abusive messages the powers that be did nothing about.. this way I get nothing.

The problem is they don't have a tenancy agreement.

There I was thinking the school was shut due to an electrical fault (thats what DD told me over the phone as thats what another pupil said) which I found strange as they were texting/tweeting, and the school have just tweeted that its due to a sudden staff bereavement! :(
