  • Hello!

Dont mind me, but I will be joining y'all today. I'm no stranger to flying, but I would describe myself as a 'fair weather flylady'.....or should that be 'foul weather flylady'? As in......

*I fly when my house is disgusting, get it looking reasonably good, then slip back into my old dirty mare ways and forget about flylady*....Rinse and repeat!

I've recently moved house (BOUGHT A HOUSE! First time not renting, feeling V. grown up) and its chaos here. Still living out of boxes. I started with good intentions but the dust bunnies and clutter are back. Other half has had enough of it, and I can't say I blame him. So I am determined to get this place looking good for christmas.

Today I have a stinking cold and feel like I'm going to throw up, but I'm not going to let it stop the flying progress. I've already done 45 minutes of 'crisis cleaning' in the kitchen, dining room and living room, now I'm sitting down with a hot vimto because this cold is making tea and coffee taste like an old ashtray :(

    So, todays goals:
Tuesday ~ Kitchen and dining room
    15 minutes...

    Clear and wipe work surfaces
Wipe down all the major appliances.. clean filters/drawers/seals etc
Wipe over the cupboards fronts and kickboards

    Extras
    • 15 min crisis clean in each room of the house
    • Hoover throughout
    • Do some laundry!
Ok, hot vimto finished, back to the grind. I hope everybody has a productive day! x
Working my butt off to buy the house of my dreams!

Just having a quick coffee and browse. Have cleaned the windows and frames inside for the LR. Just thought I'd have a quick check on how my challenge is going as we're almost out of November.

    Kaz2904 I pledge to empty all the charity shop books and clothes out of my car boot;
    get the last part of the wall papered;
get carpet in our bedroom and the landing and stairs.
Wooden floor or carpet for the hallway.
DH and I will clear out the massive cupboard on the landing
5 bin bags of stuff to go. overestimated the amount of rubbish we have in this house clearly, we only managed 2 bags of rubbish from the CoD!
DH will paint the rest of the woodwork on the hall stairs and landing and will paint the 3 bedroom doors.

ETA: Need to refill the screenwash in my car and handily, there is a bottle of screenwash in the hallway which needs somewhere to live. Hopefully this will empty it :D. ETA: Not quite! DH or MiL will have to use the dregs up!

    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.

Thank you Honey Bear for your reply. I'll be thinking about your suggestions for my dailies when I can't sleep in the early hours!! I have a few in mind but the sooner I get into a regular routine after leaving work at end of September the better. I was OK when I had somwhere to be at a certain time - but now the days can just disappear and I don't feel as if I have achieved anything!!! (even though I have)

Just about to start again after lunch - been watching James Martin on the Scarborough hopsital prog!!!!

    I've got to:
    1. Change three beds,
    2. Clean the shower room,
    3. Vacuum four rooms,
    4. Make a machine that won't work, work and
    5. [STRIKE]Reboil one batch of crabblie jelly that just won't do as it is. [/STRIKE]
    6. Grr at forgetful self. I've got to add another urgent job. Go up to dreaded attic and get table down, as promised, to incredibly quiet and hard-working lodger who needs one in his room.
One down, four (strike that) five to go. I don't live in an ideal world - the high tide just got higher and I can't deal with froggie emails etc until I've got my head straighter.
    Better is good enough.

Mid month check of bank accounts
Do you need to submit gas/elec readings?

    Clean kitchen window
Clean washing machine filters and drawers

Check medical supplies, get rid of out of date stuff and replenish stocks

Wipe marks off the wall by the stairs and lightshades

Are you ready for when it snows, salt (or cat litter), snow shovel, frozen bread (or stash of bread flour), frozen milk, torch and batteries, hot water bottles etc in case of power outage. Supplies in the car too - spare hats/gloves/chocolate etc

Thankyou for linking me to the Spoon Theory dustykitten :) What a wonderful and insightful piece of text. Now if only I can remember it! :rotfl: I can imagine it now trying to explain to a bemused friend "I've got spoons and you've got spoons, one of us has got more and you might need more or I might need more and it costs you a spoon to get a spoon and...oh hang on, that's all wrong, we'd better start again!"

Everyone is sounding very on top of things today, well done!!
