Welcome to even more newbies :T

Hope your mum's move has gone smoothly, CY.
Valli, I hope you are *not* being used: that would not be fair play.
GWS wishes to your parents, dancemum.
Sorry to hear about the demise of your CH valve, Skinty. Hope it gets replaced very soon.

It's been a very busy day here! Between us, DH and I have
    - Kept the decorator supplied with tea and bacon sandwiches (he's finished the HSL now and it looks really good :))
    - Sanded shelf in new cupboard
    - Hoovered back bedroom, including cupboard
    - Emptied 4 packing cases this morning (as reported earlier)
    - Touched up emulsion in both upstairs bedrooms
    - Fixed a knob on the loft door
    - Cleaned windows in both upstairs bedrooms
    - Fixed curtain rails and hung curtains in both upstairs bedrooms
    - Discovered different, thicker, curtains (which I thought I had sent to a CS before we moved :o) and hung them in the downstairs bedroom. Hopefully the house will keep warmer tonight, and I'm looking forward to the carpets covering the cracks between the floorboards as from Thursday :D
    - Moved umpteen boxes out of the lounge and played packing case tetris in the DR and utility
    - Dusted and hoovered lounge
    - Emptied Dys0n twice
    - Cleaned paint blobs off desk and CoD
    - Glossed skirting board and door frame in lounge
    - Done final coat of gloss on wardrobe doors and drawer fronts
    - :rudolf: Emptied two more packing cases this evening, so my total for the challenge has now risen to 6/20 :j
    - Cooked and scoffed lunch and evening meal
    - Sorted out what we are going to wear tomorrow for the funeral. Shoes cleaned and coats brushed.

Not quite the same list as Natty's, but I hope she approves ;)

DH :A is suffering with his housemaid's knee again :( but miraculously my shoulder hasn't caused me much trouble today, despite reaching up to windows and doors.

Ionafan, how do you do it all?

:coffee: and bananas :D together with a dash of determination that I *will* be able to enjoy December. 5½ months of building work and dust is enough for anybody!

Really hope this isn't the case Valli :(

It's really nice having all these new posters and delurkers :) is the thought of Christmas and lots of visitors making us all want to get cleaned up? :p

I have to say it did make me get my bum in gear!

  • Kitchen is pretty much clean so I feel I'll be cheating tomorrow as I delegate, most of the daily jobs, haha but I do over see this :)
  • Group BD appt today took its usual steamroller effect, and tomorrow is horsepiddle day to see the Consultant and see if I am ready for surgery.

Took the kids out to Morribunds and Mr T's tonight as the upstairs rads are only luke warm, and it was warmer in the supermarkets than it was at home

Had my best ever whoopsie hunt tonight in Morribunds, a trolley full for £4.68 after couponing including about "£3 of whoopsied roses.....very chuffed seeing as DD3 has now gone Vegan, helped offset all the soya marg and "cheese" type things I had to buy in Mr T's which after buying many needed house supplies left me a bit _pale_

I did spent 10 minutes in Utility today, rehoming a few bits and bobs......one worksurface is ALMOST clear, just need to be a bit more ruthless, so I will try a bit more in there tomorrow.

So list is looking like this.......

Monday ~ Lovely Lliving Room, Happy Hall and Safe Stairs
    15 minutes...

    [STRIKE]Declutter all these areas[/STRIKE]
Vacuum these areas - carpets still wet from washing, so will hang over til later in the week
    30 minutes to spare...
    Wipe/vacuum sofas
Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?- then metal venetian blinds are in need of a good clean, but I have some new wooden ones from the Swedish Shop waiting to be fitted, so I will  and say it doesn't need doing.....but will add putting up new blinds to Toots list
Dust any areas below eye level
    Got an hour...
Dust anything above eye level (if safe to do so)
[STRIKE]Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, should the magazines really be on the floor?[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wash any soft furnishings in need[/STRIKE] all good, so nothing in need here
[STRIKE]Binbag dance[/STRIKE] not needed, gibble picked up with one hand - I have put the fear of Dog into my lot :rotfl:
    [STRIKE]Tidy coats/shoes bags etc[/STRIKE]
Extra Mission Tasks~ if you want to do more
    • Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?
      [STRIKE]
    • Check you have your Christmas card list done, if it's not done at least spend 10 minutes on it[/STRIKE] don't do the traditional christmas thing with cards and all that, but will send nice personal email to family as year end approaches
    • Spend 15 minutes sorting paperwork, dealing with anything urgent NOW
    • Spend half an hour doing something for yourself
    • 27 Fling Boogie, you know the routine, grab a bag and clear that clutter!
      [STRIKE]
    • Clean out the vacuum cleaner, empty the bag/bucket, clean filters if they are washable MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT THEM BACK UNTIL THEY ARE DRY![/STRIKE] hoover fixed Yay:j

    15 minutes...

    Clear and wipe work surfaces
Wipe down all the major appliances.. clean filters/drawers/seals etc

    30 minutes to spare...
Wipe the tables and replace the cloth if necessary
    Sweep and mop the floors
Run appliances through a 'clean' wash
    Deweb and defluff these rooms
    Got an hour...
    Clear and mop/vacuum the floors
Scrub down the dining chairs.. yes, I noticed this earlier - yucky yuck underneath of the highchair needs attention

    Extras - help yourself!
    • Wipe and replace ALL the small appliances
    • Empty and wash out bins

I am here, finally, better late than never.

Thanks to Bossy, Natty, Dusty and everyone else who contributes to this thread, whether with lists or just nice comments/support/things to read. Hope RP is doing ok. Have had a really bad headache for the last two days so I've managed to do a tiny bit of online stuff, in small bites, and that is it. I am FINALLY feeling better, almost back to normal just a cold thing hanging around which I hope is the end of the measles now, finally. I will be taking it relatively easy this week but want to keep up with the list,or at least complete everything by the end of the week.

  • Hi welcome to lots of new people and returners - I am new-ish myself and can vouch for what a difference belonging to this thread makes in a short time! I agree, perhaps we are trying to get one step ahead ready for Xmas?! I know I am:o.

Ready for a terrific Tuesday everyone?

Not sure if should chose kitchen or dining room - will do only one as doing "winter cleaning" so not actually following the list properly.

Decided - dining room as it is totally covered in "the big paper frog" I am not so rose-tinted glasses to believe I will also eat the frog today, but the lounge is lovely after yesterday and we even had a log fire last night!!!

Can anyone offer further advice please on setting up my dailies and night-time routines - haven't done that yet but will need to set in place ready for next week. I am pretty good with wash dry and iron/pa but nothing much else sorted!!!

    Thanks.

    Another paid work free day.

I need to ring tesco about their incompetence with a recent order.

Also need to make an online payment for a school trip for DS2.

I'm babysitting this morning and this evening.

DS1 is still out having worked his first night shift. He was very difficult last night before he went, it's his nerves. He should be home soon.

Valli It sucks. I hope today is better for you.

    Must get up!
  • Morning everyone, hope you're all ok on this chilly day :)
