I promise that I will look into this, I really do know I should.
If I'm honest its just getting my head around it all at the moment. I have so much else going on and I need a time to sit quietly with no phones ringing, work, children chatting to me and demands to be somewhere else from the family. I have a very muddled head at the moment, I feel like I am constantly spaced out and living in a bit of a bubble if that makes any sense. I need to have my head in the right place to tackle this one.
I am trying to work through everything , we have dealt with the bank charges, PPI, although I am sure there is still some more knocking around, we are currently sorting the bank issues. The Bank came back to us again yesterday flatly refusing once more to refund the bank charges, I need to take that one to FOS now, so thats more concentrating and letter writing. The Bank who we have have the Loan with that fell into arrears when Dad was ill are not playing the game ,thats another issue we are trying to get sorted. They are now trying to force us to turn it into a secured loan against the house. We have also, which I dont think I have mentioned discovered that we have been the victim of fraud ( this has happened before) whereby people are opening betting accounts galore in our name, others have set up have had mobile phone accounts set up. I have also just discovered that car breakdown to the tune of a few hundred pounds has been being taken from our account for a year or so now. Its with the same company that our own breakdown cover is with at the exact cost and debited a couple of days apart, hence why I think I hadn't spotted it. We have managed to get hold of the name of the person and address of who its for but they are using our bank account details. Having been in this situation before, trying to get it resolved is a nightmare, as the minute we say, "we didn't set these up, our details are being used fraudulently " we then enter into the who data protection scenario whereby they anser , 'if it wasn't you who set it up , then we cant speak to you routine !!' It is ridiculously frustrating and time consuming.
In short we have quite a few bits going on, so the endowment is on the list, right near the very top I assure you !! ( I actually found a Xmas card from the adviser yesterday which made me giggle). I will get there, but right now I need to deal with the above, then move on from there. Sorry !!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

This is probably proof of how fuzzy my head currently is, do I complain to the Financial Advisor himself about the advice or do I complain to the Ombudsmen about his advice ? xx Thankyou !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hopefully there will be a thread on here where you can read up on the process. Remember you dont need to do everything at once.

I'd do both at the same time. You'll need to write a letter with all the facts that you know/can prove and bullet them for easy reading. I think in your case you will also need the figures of how many months endowment you have not paid on the advice of the Financial Advisor with the request that the endowment fund is made up to what it would be worth had the payments been made. Then request compensation for bad/almost incompetent advice!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Thanks Piq. The advice was verbal. We were sitting around the dining table. I had everything written down as to what we owed who and what arrears we had etc. I discussed a DMP with him but he said not to go down that route. This was summer 2010 if I remember rightly. The endowment cashed in for about £35K I think, should have been worth £115K when it finished ( doubt that it would have been though but we were paying over the odds apparently to try and ensure that it would. Had we still been paying into it we would have paid an additional £13K ish .
I am not sure how we will have a case if it was verbal. I will check though if I have a letter, as after his visit we got a lovely booklet with information on all of our policies so maybe there was mention in there somewhere about this but I doubt it.
The really sad things is the money was used to pay off 2 credit cards, one of which we ran back up again after a company failed to pay us for three months work and is now in the DMP anyway, and the rest cleared the mortgage and other credit card arrears. What a bloody mess !!
Its was all such a muddle, but water under the bridge I guess. Just need to get on with it. xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Thanks baldy, lovely to see you by the way. Hope you are well.
That fraud mess is going to take a fair bit of time to sort out, but I have complained to the ombudsmen re the Car Breakdown issue and the offer of £13.82 as compensation for "our policy that you say was arranged incorrectly !" The policy wasnt even for us, it was for some chappie living about two hours away who chose to let us pay for it for him !! The policy was fraudulent, not incorrect !! Numpties !! This has all reminded me though we did make a complaint to the bank as well about this, but they have never got back to us either. Looks like more letter writing. xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Well I have had a pretty rubbish day all in all ( courtesy of the extended family
) , but I am just home from work ( that went well, picked up some additional freelance work on the side ) , dinner thrown in oven and I am off out tonight with my lovely girls and Mr PG. They are singing tonight and Mr PG is around to come too, so I will pull up a bar stool, order a nice cold glass of PG and catch up with my hubby and listen to my girls singing. Am hoping it will be a nice early start to the weekend, as its DD1s 16th birthday and she has a weekend full of fun planned !!
Hope you all have a lovely evening. Sorry I haven't caught up much on diaries again, but I will try to soon xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
