I am determined that this week will be better than last, although I shouldn't really moan about last week as I did get to spend lots of time with my girls .
Still using the Sleep Cycle App, I think I am a bit obsessed with it. Still not sure how the thing works, but it seems to know when I am reading at 3am. DD1 has started doing it now, I'm not sure if its just an excuse to allow her to have her phone in her room at night ( its usually switched off and out on the landing by 10pm , which although she doesnt complain I know it does irritate her !) Mr PG has also been using it, I am surprised the thing hasnt blown up in frustration at his weird sleeping pattern, or lack off these past few weeks.
The MIL made a sarky comment yesterday to him when she called to ask why we hadn't been in touch. He explained he hadnt had a day off in 27 days . I swear they all think we are working like this because of greed. Infact I know they do, its come up before. He was told that money wasn't the be and end all . Grrrrr. Do they really think we are working like this for the fun of it. I'm afraid I did get a little angry, doesnt take much these days to wind me up. Our daily wage is 25% less than it was 15 years ago ! Thats the industry for you sadly. I'm assuming most peoples income has gone up a little in that time. Ours has gone down, by a considerable amount. It doesn't matter how many days we work, there are only so many in a year, so its difficult to claw back. We are now supporting four adults really and as we all know fuel, food, household bills have all increased. I wish these people would just butt out !!
Sorry have angry head on!!!:mad::o
Bit early in the day for that I think, but I have been mulling it over in my head all night long so needed to get it down on paper as it were !!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I think the next time such a comment is made he should say, our income has dropped by 25% and we're now a family of 4 adults with the cost of living going up. This makes perfect sense and doesn't go into the debt details.
I hope you have a good week

Agree - they definitely need to wind their collective heads in (or be prepared to have them hacked off).
I've had to take a £3,000 drop in salary for my new job. When I mentioned it to a friend, I was informed that "that's the way it goes when you didn't come directly from another job - you have no bargaining power / haven't got a leg to stand on / what you've got to expect." and so on.
Mind you, I'm grateful to have it and, I'm actually enjoying it. There's certainly less stress here than the last place, so that's a good thing.0 -
This will be like me. Don't know whether I'll be able to teach, certainly not at the level of responsibility I had. Right now, it doesn't matter but it will be strange down the track.
Pg - I know it's stressful and I've been there too frequently burning candle through work, but try to find some time for you. Even if its just a bubble bath.xxxNumber of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0 -
Thankyou all you lovely people !!!
I am having one of those angry days, more later though as currently stuck on telephone to the mortgage company as they have been complete numpties also. Letter arrived today telling us they are charging us £135 for nonpayment of our mortgage and arrears and they are transferring to debt collectors and arranging doorstep callers.
Stupid idiots. Everything is paid.:mad:
But the good news is that an invoice was paid today meaning I have paid another £100 to THEM which takes us over the agreed monthly payment. Signature updated ! Only another £10,388 to go !!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Will be back later xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Well, I'm back and we are £250 better off than we were this morning.
The complaint with said divvy mortgage company was escalated, £250 compensation for their dippiness offered although we have yet to accept , as we are waiting to see what they say in the letter as although they have offered this compensation they are still escalating the complaint further. They were eager for us just to accept their money so that they could close the complaint and make us go away. Their initial offer was £75.00. As we explained it wasn't about the money (although obviously that's very nice too, it was the principle of the matter) They have also agreed to refund the charges of £35 per letter, of which they actually sent two.
In short, we have no arrears, and the mortgage for January has been paid in full.
Anyway, we made our point over the course of the day with phone calls backwards and forwards between them myself and Mr PG and we have reached a conclusion, but an explanation as to exactly what went wrong wouldn't go amiss.
Other than that, its been a crazy day . Still working now, I will be here for a good few hours yet I imagine. But who am I to complain ? xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Just had my first proper chat with DD2 today
She has been asked to sing in assembly for each morning for a week to the five different year groups ! Am so proud of her !
How on earth she has the courage to stand up on her own and sing to 350 different kids each day ranging from 11 - 16 is beyond me ! DD1 sang to her year group only and said it was absolutely terrifying and they were the hardest audience she has ever had to please !
Shes a far braver soul than I am ! :ALBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Well done on fighting that fight with the mortgage company
Way to go little miss PG, is it strange that I feel proud of her too?
Hope you have managed to get out of the angry state now.

Aww Granny, you are lovely ! No I don't think its strange. I felt like a proud Auntie when Kerri announced she was having the baby . Funny isnt it ? That reminds me that I need to see how she is doing.
I don't feel angry today, I feel quite smiley. The sun is shining that helps enormously. I am hoping for a quieter day with work today, yesterday was a bit too crazy wasn't sure if I was on my head or my heels !
DD2 gone off to school with her backing tracks, ready to face the year 9's ! Shes Year 8 ! I feel a bit sick for her, but she seemed quite chilled. DD1 has the third and final part of her English Literature Controlled Assessment that she chose to resit, so we can draw a line under that one now. Think we are slowly making progress.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
