I hope the cold has disappeared now PG. It seems to be the thing at the moment. My dad has just recovered from the flu, although he says he was pneumonia. Not sure it was as he didn't feel ill enough to call the doctor out, but he definitely had a very bad cold.
School sounds very stressful for DD1. Hope things are slowly improving on that front.
Sorry to hear Mr PG has been working long hours and not been home for a while. You must miss him terribly.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hi PG..I would look at Ebay..my latest evening dresses all came from there..Hob&s in my case for £10 or so. Now Okay so she won't want a Ho&bs dress but I would look hard to keep the cost down. I have also bought new evening shoes at the fraction of what they are worth.
Have fun..and hope Mr PG gets to sleep soon

I hope you manage to find a prom dress for DD, Mrs pg. Makes me glad I've got a boy first to go through this. i still remember my dress that I wore for my leavers party at school (don't think they were called proms back then) it was a floor length, white, cotton ribbed dress (was a beach theme hence no fancy frilly dresses), which had a slit in it all the way up to the top of my thigh and I thought I looked great ...haha you wouldn't catch me dead in anything like it anymore, not least because it would show every lump and bump
gone are my size 6 days haha ...enjoy the shopping

I bought the dress I wore to DSs wedding on fleabay, cost £40 for brand new with tags £250 floor length silk dress, was gorgeous, otherwise I'd never have worn it to his wedding.
Hope you manage to get something fabulous at a low cost.

HI Mrs PG.
Well I've spent most of half term reading both your diaries (new an old) and wanted to tell what an amazing wife, mother and person you are, I have laughed and cried at your diary, i have no idea how you keep all the balls in the air and keep going day in day out with all the carp that has been and is thrown at you.
I hope your DD1 is feeling much brighter and that you manage to find her a beautiful dress for her prom, I'm sure you will.
I also wanted to say that I was sorry to read about your Dad passing away, I could tell by the way you wrote about him you were close, my dad passed away just over 5 years ago and I still have days when I suddenly remember he is no longer with me and I feel like my heart is being torn in 2. Believe me it does get easier and you will get to a point were you can talk think about him and smile and everything won't feel so raw. I sympathize with you regarding your mother, I had to cut ties with mine a few years ago, she ground me down for many years nothing I did was ever good enough and she was making me ill (anxiety and panic attacks), one day she pushed me too far and I snapped, I think hearing my son say to my mum in law that he didn't like nanny she always make mummy cry was the last straw (he was around 6) she was not going to do the same to my children.
Sorry that was a bit of a ramble, what I wanted to say was that your one tough cookie and I think your amazing.
Take care and I'm afraid i may keep posting,If that's ok with you.

The cold is still lingering Mrs F. I have not stopped this past week, and am absolutely exhausted. Thats not helping with shifting the cold. I need to have had a chance to curl up on the sofa under a blanket with a good book and chill, but sadly its not been an option this week.:( Been needed elsewhere every day and evening so that could be why its still lingering, but it is a pretty nasty one. DD1 still hasn't shifted hers which she caught before me.
I really hope your dad is feeling better. So sorry to hear he has been poorly. Are you still managing to Skype him each week ? I'm sure you have probably mentioned it on your diary, I just havent had a chance to read anyone's this last week. I will keep everything crossed for him that he is on the mend xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Sounds a lovely dress DFW !!!;)
I wore a very fetching Banana Coloured Jacket and Skirt Combo for my leavers do !! 80's styley with a big boxy jacket and shoulder pads. If I remember rightly I even had matching banana yellow stilletos ! This stunning ensemble was topped off by huuuuge permed hair, backcombed and sprayed to within an inch of its life.
DD1 will look far more classy, if it kills me !! :rotfl::rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Wow PennyWise, you must have been glued to your PC, mobile, tablet, whatever you were reading on for most of half term, my diaries are insanely long and rambling !! Thankyou for your lovely kind comments. Think us girls just do what we have to do don't we and get on with whats thrown at us with a fair few meltdowns along the way.
I am so sorry to heart hat you have lost your dad too, but thankyou so much for commenting. Your post made me feel so much better (although I so sorry you have had to go through something which sounds horribly familar ) about how I am feeling and what happened and whats now happening. I have had a terrible week being dragged in every which direction with the most horrible remarks comments and pressure being thrown at me. Sadly it culminated in me losing it completely whilst driving the car with DD1 a passenger, and having to pull over and sob and sob to her as I really didnt feel I could cope with anything more.My head felt like it was going to explode. The poor girl has enough pressure of her own without dealing with me, but she was an absolute sweetheart. The girls have had to witness alot of carp going on this week and something needs to give , stop or whatever, as I feel I will seriously lose the plot big time if this carries on much more. I saw Mr PG for an hour, we had an awful row brought on by the outside pressures . Its not fair that the actions of one person are affecting my whole family.
I will shut up now before this ends up a long ramble.
So lovely to hear from you, don't disappear ! xxxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
