Mrs PG's Hopes & Dreams for a debt free future !

  • Ditto what others have said PG. My mother and I don't often see eye to eye. She can be very harsh, tactless, selfish and unforgiving. Even my brother pointed out on my visit back to the UK in September, that our mum never showed us much love. She has a way of twisting things to make me look like the baddie. Fortunately on my trip I was able to smooth over some very sensitive issues with my close family and as a result I am much closer to them all. Mum will never change, she's set in her ways so I have come to the conclusion I either have to accept this or accept her the way she is. I have chosen to accept her the way she is. Fortunately me for me, she is half a world away and I only speak to her once every couple of months on the phone.

    If you ever feel like things are getting too bad and causing you and your wonderful family upset, then you must reassess the situation and do what is right for all of you. In the meantime I'm sending you hugs as I know how hard this can be. {{{HUGS}}}

  • Thanks everyone, she has actually behaved (ish) for the last few days, although today shes upping the ante a little !

    Skint - really fab to see you as usual. Glad you are back from the ether, I will check on ho you are doing as soon as I get a chance.

    I managed to get free tickets for a meet & greet with DD2s favourite band this evening. She gets to say hello and have a "selfie" taken with them. The problem is I am so regretting it. Its freezing cold and wet outside and I will have to wait in line with a 1000 hysterical teenagers girls for at least two hours. No doubt we will be at the back of the queue as I am refusing to take her out of school so that she can queue early. I really wish I hadnt told her :o about it then I could have sneekily just not gone, but I didnt !

    I havent been home earlier than 10pm yet this week so far and I really was hoping to be snuggled up indoors this evening, but it wont be happening !!

    I will pack a flask of hot chocolate to see us through I think !

    On money topics, the International Phone calls have started up again with a vengeance. I am just trying to figure out which predator they may be from. I am tempted to use the old tactic of answering them, then placing the phone in front of the tv with Jeremy Kyle playing in the background for them to listen to. Just to make me gigle !! xxx

    I've been having international calls again recently and like you wondered which predator they were. Not looking at the phone before answering the other day, I discovered that the call was in fact call centre marketing company and not a predator after all

    OH got into an argument with them the other day and after telling them to go away in a less than polite manner was bombarded with calls consistently for the next hour. He was apoplectic by the end. As they are coming from an international number there is little that can be done to stop them so I just lift the handset and put it straight back down again. Once they realise there is no one there they go away. We so rarely use the house phone I would get rid of it if I had my way but OH refuses

    Enjoy tonight and wrap up warm

    You could be right actually Granny, maybe it is a call centre. There is no reason why a predator should be calling that I am aware of, unless its one of the accounts we think is UE and its been passed on to someone. Thats a possibility.

    I may answer today if they call again. xx

  • I take back everything I said about not wanting to go out last night to meet DD2s favourite band.

    We had a lovely time. IT was very very well organised, we queued inside all cosy and warm. Too warm infact as I had dressed us as if we were going to the Antartic with flasks of hot chocolate to keep us cosy as well.

    The band had signed CDs, so I treated her to one of those and then she had her photos taken. She had an extra treat as only two band members were supposed to be there, but a third came instead.:T
    The three hour queue was worth it just to see the excitement on her face ! :D:D

    She was ridiculously excited and spent the evening bouncing around in excitement. I had to watch the DVD numerous times. Was hoping DD1 may take over and watch it with her instead but she had her nose buried in a book last night and we couldnt get any sense out of her !!

  • Ahh so glad you had a nice time and DD2 will remember that forever, how lovely :) The local fireworks had special guests last year - one being M@tt cardle from x-factor and OMG the amount of screaming girls was ridiculous, one of them nearly crushed DS2! He started crying because he was so scared of all the screaming teenagers :p poor thing haha!
