We've not done the elf thing as fifty quid was extortionate I thought (cheapest I could find)! My friend posted hers on fb this morning and whilst her boys wrre asleep in their bunks the elf had covered the room ceiling to roof in toilet rollwas a right mess lol!
We aren't near river or sea here but I heard a few places were evacuated not fsr from here. Whilst we collected the kids from school the plastic corrugated shelter thing blew off! A few of the men went running after it to make sure it didn't hit anyone was quite scary! Nothing worse than that here though
Xx
I paid £20 after xmas on eb@y for ours complete with the storybook.
These Elves seem to quite like tricks with Toilet Roll, I'm not sure I fancy tidying it all up though. The flour was bad enough after the Snow Angel exploits !!
I heard that some of the men from the Garrison were deployed to help the flood victims your direction . Thankfully they weren't needed here after all xxxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Finally caught up
Great news re car
Love the elf idea, not heard of it before. Would be fun to do with DGC when they visit - will keep an eye out for suitable elf and put him away for next year.
Not sure if you got the bank situation sorted but just to let you know Hal1fax was linked to Ll0yds t5b, not sure about now though since t5b and L split. They are all part of Ll0yds group
These 2 links should help
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/safe-savings#whatcounts
http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/consumerinformation/uk_groups/index.shtml
Just after starting my self-managed dmp, I opened an account with Hal1fax with no trouble and my largest debt was with them (silly I know but didn't at the time)
Hopefully you'll have no trouble sorting accounts for DD
