Hi mrs PG, I don't know why but I was really surprised that you would be in the flood area. I imagined that you were inland. I'm on the west coast and it was really interesting watching high tide yesterday.
We are on the East Coast near the river, which we can see from the house  It appears that I am the only of the neighbours to have received flood warnings so they were all sleeping soundly while I was carting as much as I could upstairs last night. Where was Mr PG when I needed him ?! :rotfl:
I think all will be fine here tonight I have left everything downstairs and will rush down there should the sirens go off and rescue what I can . We have the warning in place until 4am.
I have a horrible feeling that with the luck we have had of late, that were we to have a problem the insurance wouldn't pay out !! Not sure why I just have this feeling in my bones.
Mr PG thinks I am hoping that a tiny bit of water will sneak in as I do rather fancy a new carpet, ours is looking a tad worse for wear now !! xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi Mrs PG!
Great news about the car, I hope it marks the end of a rubbish week and the start of a splendid weekend :-)
And scary stuff waiting for the high tide - we lived on the west coast until a few years back but then relocated to reeeeeally high ground inland so all safe from flooding here, however my in-laws took a battering where we used to live :-/
Enjoy your elf on the shelf fun!! This is literally the first year I've heard of this, and I've seen it EVERYWHERE so will definitely be having fun with that one next year......
Happy Friday!!
Hiya daisystar,
I really hope the In Laws are ok and not too much damage has been done. I havent had much time to watch the news today but from what I saw a few poor people have lost their houses which must be absolutely devastating. I joke about the new carpet, but I cant begin to imagine how these poor people must feel.
I first saw the Elf on the Shelf last year but the cheapest I could find was about £70 I think, I picked this Elf up much cheaper on Ebay and he is brand newI haven't seen Elf around much this year but I hear it is becoming more popular, which will be good as people can share their suggestions for mischevious antics ! Once our decorations are up I think he will cause more chaos. he is remarkably well behaved at the moment.
The girls absolutely love it, even DD1 at a cool very nearly 16 !!!LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

He is currently to be found sitting on a chair, looking very cheeky, with a toasted mini marshmallow on a cocktail stick hanging it over the blown out flame on a candle ! He looks quite cure actually ! I must confess I did steal this idea from the internet ! I am waiting for Mr PG to be around before he causes real mayhem !!
I must admit we are looking for things to go which are not particularly "messy". Tonight, he has hung a banner he "made"over the TV saying "you better not shout, you better not cry, you better not pout 'cos I'm telling you why ... Santa Claus is coming to town!".
OK it's not on par with Elves destroying the kitchen but our house is untidy enough without Elves turning up to join in the show.2018 totals:

Great news on the car :T
We've not done the elf thing as fifty quid was extortionate I thought (cheapest I could find)! My friend posted hers on fb this morning and whilst her boys wrre asleep in their bunks the elf had covered the room ceiling to roof in toilet rollwas a right mess lol!
We aren't near river or sea here but I heard a few places were evacuated not fsr from here. Whilst we collected the kids from school the plastic corrugated shelter thing blew off! A few of the men went running after it to make sure it didn't hit anyone was quite scary! Nothing worse than that here though

That sounds fab, I have bought some candy canes and was planning on him hanging off of one of those and zip wiring across the lounge, but Im not sure if he will stay ! xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Sounds great Alex, bet the little one loved it !!
My Elf looked like he was caught in a slightly compromising position this morning by the time the girls found him with his marshmallows and cocktail stick. His arms had drooped and he looked like he was hanging onto his "boy bits" which were being toasted over a flame ! The girls were in pieces !! :rotfl::rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
