I hope things are okay and the water levels don't rise any higher. DSs have just said to me that they now know why we live at 1200ft above sea level. A bit extreme, I know
Mr P too has money for jobs that don't seem to be forthcoming. People do seem to be hanging onto what they have and will probably cough up next year.
If it helps, I haven't bought ianything except some socks for Mr PI tried Christmas shopping but I am so unaccustomed to spending money that I came home with nothing. Must try again. It would help if someone would let me know what they would like. It was easier when they were little and wrote totally unrealistic letters to Santa. St least I had a clue....
I love the elf on the shelf tradition too. I am going to see if DD wants to start it for her little one.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Pooh that has made me feel so much better. I have lots of ideas as to what to buy, but the thought of actually going shopping is filling with me dread. Instead I decided on the online route, but I cant bring myself to click the order button !! The thought of spending the money makes me feel quite sick, especially as I know that its needed elsewhere . I need to give myself a talking to I think.
I loved the girls Santa letters, they still write them now ! . DD2 would always write crazy things like " an action man for Grandad " or "lego for DAddy !" instead of something she would like and DD1 has always just asked for Surprises except for one year when she wanted a Barbie Ironing Board !! I photocopied them and they are glued in a scrap book for when they are all grown up !!
The Elf on the Shelf is so much fun. Last night he was incredibly naughty. I came downstairs to find that he had tipped over a packet of flour, laid in it and was making snow angels !! I was concerned he may be flooded out, but he was safe !!
I wish I could post pictures of the Elf but I am pretty rubbish, I can see where to attach them , but I don't know how to upload them from a Macand or ipad and dragging and dropping didnt work.
Sorry Mr Pooh is having trouble getting paid also, I really hope the money appears soon for you all xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

:j:j:j:j:j We have sold the Damn Car !!! :j:j:j:j:j The people came, loved it, weren't concerned with the other faults on the car, lets face it we have spent a small fortune on it this year, gave us what we wanted and off they drove in it .
We were very sad to see it go, I discovered afterwards the girls were taking photographs , from their windows as it drove off down the road enroute to its new home !! :rotfl:.
We had some wonderful memories in it, I suppose its silly to be so attached to a car, but I am very sorry to see it go. Had we been in a better financial state I would have tried to have hang onto it as we could really use a 4x4 in the winter for getting Mr PG to and from jobs, but we will have to manage this year.
The money will come in handy and refill the depleted Emergency Pots although I may need to dip in to it for Christmas presents if noone is very forthcoming on paying us !
Thats some good news anyway , which I am pleased about, as its actually been a pretty rubbish week, I will be glad to see the back of it !! xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Thanks Satchmo, thats fantastic !!How people think of different things for the Elf year after year I will never know .I am sure those ideas will really help when I start to run out .
I am thinking Elf could maybe pretend to toast some marshmallows tonight over a blown out candle flame xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi mrs PG, I don't know why but I was really surprised that you would be in the flood area. I imagined that you were inland. I'm on the west coast and it was really interesting watching high tide yesterday.0

Hi Mrs PG!
Great news about the car, I hope it marks the end of a rubbish week and the start of a splendid weekend :-)
And scary stuff waiting for the high tide - we lived on the west coast until a few years back but then relocated to reeeeeally high ground inland so all safe from flooding here, however my in-laws took a battering where we used to live :-/
Enjoy your elf on the shelf fun!! This is literally the first year I've heard of this, and I've seen it EVERYWHERE so will definitely be having fun with that one next year......

Oh no Alex, he sounds like he is being very mischevious !! Ours is relatively well behaved at the moment as after his drunken night on Wednesday I think he needs to chill.
He is currently to be found sitting on a chair, looking very cheeky, with a toasted mini marshmallow on a cocktail stick hanging it over the blown out flame on a candle ! He looks quite cure actually ! I must confess I did steal this idea from the internet ! I am waiting for Mr PG to be around before he causes real mayhem !! :eek:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
