Have a good day
Me too !! I hate feeling like this though. Once upon a life Christmas shopping was so much fun,. It would be lovely to get that feeling back one day !
I did pick up some bargains which made me smile. The girls pointed out a few bits they liked and when I got home I managed to pick up some Voucher Codes and saved a hell of a lot of money.
I am sitting here now trying to pluck up the courage to book Panto Tickets. Its been a tradition ever since the girls were tiny. Infact DD2 first went when she was9 months old and we have been every single year until last Christmas that is. We just couldnt afford it and we all really missed it. I am trying to jiggle the finances as I'm sure we can go . It will be a difficult Xmas as it is but I am determined to make it as special as I can for the girls given the circumstances.xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Finally caught up
Great news re car
Love the elf idea, not heard of it before. Would be fun to do with DGC when they visit - will keep an eye out for suitable elf and put him away for next year.
Not sure if you got the bank situation sorted but just to let you know Hal1fax was linked to Ll0yds t5b, not sure about now though since t5b and L split. They are all part of Ll0yds group
These 2 links should help

Just after starting my self-managed dmp, I opened an account with Hal1fax with no trouble and my largest debt was with them (silly I know but didn't at the time)
Hopefully you'll have no trouble sorting accounts for DD
Granny x
Thats great Granny thankyou. We have no debts with Halifax of Lloyds ( amazingly !!). We didn't have time in the end to get the accounts sorted this weekend.....the hours just flew by, but I have earmarked a visit for next Saturday .
I am sure your grandchildren would love Elf.
Saturday night he was very messy, he popped himself inside the toilet roll and rolled down the two flights of stairs from the top to the bottom leaving a trail of loo roll behind him. Tucked inside the tube were the Advent Choccies. He msut have got pretty dizzy thats for sure !
Last night, seen as the Christmas tree was up, he decided to have some real mischief while we were asleep. He decided to re decorate the Tree !! He was discovered this morning climbing to the very top , and the tree decorated with various Undies that he had accumulated. They were hanging from every branch and even had a pair of DD1s knickers on his head !! DD2 was in hysterics but DD1 I don't think was ever so enamoured with her Undies being on display !! I have tidied them up now though as I will be collecting my mum later and she may think we have finally lost the plot !!! :rotfl::rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I knew one of us would know which bank was linked to what bank.....well done granny!
Sorry you felt rough shopping, that'll be the stress kicking in, although Christmas shopping is awful anyway. I don't have any Christmas spirit when it comes to shopping at all - a bit bah humbug I'm afraid
Bah Humbug ?? I dont believe that of you Piq !!!
I have a million tabs open on the computer with shopping baskets full of presents for the whole family, but I cannot bring myself to hit confirm at all. Until I get some Dutch courage I will leave it all sitting there. You know what will happen though, the courage will appear and the items sold out !! Story of my life !! At least we arent entertaining this Christmas Day, I dread to think what a tizzy I would be in if I was feeding the masses again as I was last year ! xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Sounds brilliant. I did look for one but they were £50 so I am with Granny and will be looking after Xmas. Thanks for starting the new Xmas craze!!
We are doing the panto this year. Again a tradition with us and something we can share with DGPs etc. Its £14 each so £56 as we are getting a family ticket. Do look around as I suspect some places are cheaper than others.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

On the money stuff which I haven't written about for a while -
Another of the Debts I was hoping would be Unenforceable appears to be just that. They have written to say that they cannot provide me with a CCA and on that basis have no further interest in the debt and cannot enforce it and will be requesting no further money from us. I wont hold my breath and will continue to put the payments we were making to it aside. Just incase. You never can be too sure in my eyes.
The bank has finally written re the charges, after their really sorry , we sympathize phone call. They say their charges are in line with all the guidelines blah blah blah so will not refund a bean. They are happy to help us though if we are still experiencing difficulties !! Hows that then ? Another Loan they knew we couldn't repay ?!! They did say if I have further information for them to consider they would be happy to do so. Were the 100 pages of emails backwards and forwards not enough ?
Anyway another two page letter and a few more bits of evidence are winging their way to them this morning. Im not giving up and rolling over easily with this one.
Another £10 made on ebay this weekend, that brings the total up to about £260 this month I think.
£170 paid to THEM yesterday. only £12K to go although
they did send a statement friday which said that we only owe them £10,500 !! somebody has made a mistake there as we definitely dont, but it made me feel better for all of 10 minutes.;)
Thats that for now, no more money stuff to report today so far, off to crack on with my mammoth list for today that I wrote at 3.30am. It consists of two A4 pages and doesnt include working. Something tells me I will not get it all done ! xx xxxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Do you do your online shopping through a cashback site? You can build up a substantial amount of money to come back to you later in the year. Definitely worth it. Quidco also have details of vouchers for money off too.
And I am truly humbug when it comes to the crowds out doing their Christmas shopping, I really hate crowds at the best of times. And I hate the tinny Christmas music playing on a never ending loop. I have to be very drunk to enjoy Slade and 'I wish it could be Christmas everyday' [I think it was Slade or was it Wizzard?] See? Bah humbugTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

My friend has me in stitches with her elf pics on fb, yesterday's was her boy's undies all over the tree instead of baubles (do you know her! LOL) and today's was a bingo marker all over her son's faces whilst they were sleeping the pics were hilarious and elf was holding the marker with spots all over his face too :P
Good luck with the xmas shopping! We have panto tickets and i'm really not impressed that DD is going to see it this Thursday as a treat from the school! If i'd have known i'd have gone to the next big town along (near you!) to watch a different one grrr now she'll have seen it twice and as tickets aren't cheap I'm hoping she'll sit still through the second performance that she will be watching with us! xxMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Really loving this elf and thinking if they are too expensive after Christmas I will blinking well make my own - sorry does that sound a bit aggressive? Was going to remove the last bit but thought hey ho, I'm with friends x
Another hater of shopping nowadays and especially at this time of year. I'm with Piq on the despair over crowds and tinny Christmas sounds. I've done the majority of my shopping online with odd bits from a rather rigid list in the local shops. I think I've finished now - too much month left for the amount of money in my account
