Argh! putting an Ovivo sim in it would be like strapping wellington boots on a race horse, be a real waste. :eek:0 -

I know, I have one in another phone but even a budget smartphone is not much good with Ovivo's data diabolical data rates at the moment... going bankrupt may be ominously near as they don't have enough money to sustain a usable service.0 -

but why?
I've had my ovivo for nearly a year now. Mobile internet can be a dog sometimes but I don't mind cos it's free!"fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0 -

Well if you willing to put up with it then that's fine. I only use Ovivo in my spare phone but it would drive me nuts if I had to use daily!0 -
Has anyone had this problem.. This morning when I used the phone the top of the screen is turning blue... where the time, battery bar and signal are.. It seems to be creeping down the screen but only shows on some apps. Its obviously the screen. I bought the phone on 31/12/13 from Tesco. Not sure where I stand in getting a replacements as its now out of the 28 day warranty. I don't particularly want the phone being sent away as its the only one I have and I do need it.. Any ideas???0

It probably bought Motorola and started releasing cheaper high spec. phones just to rattle Samsung who are the real player that counts. It was just to show them that if they Samsung wouldn't play nicer Google could easily buy up manufacturers and start taking Samsung's market share. And releasing Kitkat on Motorola's just to rub it in that Google's products would get new software first too.
Samsung has got the message and has recently agreed to tinker less with android and leave it more Google'ish. Shame really, I have Samsung and vanilla Android phones and the Samsung versions of apps are much nicer than Googles bland efforts IMHO.
So job done.. bye bye Motorola, Google really isn't all that interested in hardware.

Google bought Motorola for its patents!
I don't know where people got the whole idea that Google would even remotely involve themselves with Motorola. Google said always that it saw Motorola as an independent entity that would continue as it had done before the purchase. The rest of it was just rumours. Just a few weeks ago I think it was this very thread where someone argued with me that Google would use Motorola as its manufacturing arm when it had never ever suggested anything even remotely like that.
This whole Samsung thing is just soap opera stuff. Samsung knows damn well it had a good run a about 3 phone models ago and that was it. It isn't a premium brand. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
If it had bought it solely for its patents then why produce a phone like the Moto G which effectively threw down the gauntlet to every manufacturer making phones that used the OS Google own? Makes absolutely no sense if it wasn't to make a point about what Google were prepared to do should Android phone makers like Samsung not toe the line. It had the desired result so the company (less the patents) was sold off. A company the size and influence as Google could do the whole thing again should it prove necessary...0

Motorola produced that phone and not Google.
The reason Motorola produced it was that it has a history of android updates failure so is not trusted so it released a budget phone to go alongside its flagship phone.
There is no evidence even in the slightest that Google used Motorola for any android related activity. In fact it did not even release its own phone on Motorola. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Motorola produced that phone and not Google.
Google bought Motorola who were making a loss on phones, who then put out a couple of landmark phones at a loss and then Google sold the company on, still making a loss, for what purpose then?
Google were effectively underwriting a 'posturing' exercise, if they just wanted the patents they could have just pulled the plug on Motorola and kept them. Google are not really interested in hardware, Motorola's patents are just an excuse, a distraction.0
