Would having a 16gb version make my tethering faster from it, or does that not make a difference?
Also does it matter what network I buy it on PAYG if I need to unlock it to a three mobile sim? I'm guessing I can choose any.0 -

As above, but some networks may add more of their own customisation to the software, probably no more than a few apps you can ignore and the boot logo. Personally I have always found Orange the worst for this so would avoid.
Also be aware that the Moto G takes a micro size sim, you need to check if you have the sort of sim you can pop the inner bit out to convert it. Otherwise you will need to get another suitable Three sim and do a sim transfer.

8GB and 16GB (both the Tesco and the more expensive sim free) back in stock at Tesco Direct today.0

Direct does the other does not.0

order from the Tesco Direct site - not Tesco mobile

Seems to only be £20 difference between the 16GB Tesco and 16GB sim free now. Almost seems pointless to buy the locked over the sim free now - as by the time you pay to have it unlocked etc., the differential will be even less.0 -
You also need a mains charger.0

You also need a mains charger.
You can use any micro USB power supply - so if you already have a phone that charges via micro USB - you don't need to buy one. There is a USB cable supplied in the box.
You can pick them (charge sockets) up cheap as chips from Ebay or Amazon...you don't have to pay the asking price from Tesco etc.
I believe that it was planned for a lot of phone suppliers to go this way, for quite some time now.0 -

One of the few sensible decisions to come out of the EU
