Today's plans include:
- sew up all loose bunny bits
- cut out 4 more bunnies :T done 5
- sell scrabble set - 10.30am :T
- put washing away
- do a packing list for mum's (got train tickets for £31 - less than the fuel costs and much easier than driving, especially returning to londinium on a friday)
- get dressed - esp if got a visitor :T
- plan knitting to take to mum's
- dd's passport application
- 'help' dd clear/tidy under her bed so that the syl fam nursery we won on ebay can fit in there.
- let mum know what time + day we are arriving and departing
- email dd's friend's mum re a playdate :T
Dd wants a pyjama day, which suits me fine! Dh is pottering around too, so a lazy day for all, it would seem - just what half terms are for.

Most 'jobs' done - the noteable exception being the passport. Oopsie.
Dd has found over 20 items that can go. Toy-wise it hardly makes a dent in the pile, but boxed-game-wise she has cleared a shelf. Go dd!
6 bunnies got cut out. Tomorrow's aim is to stuff all the sewn limbs and bodies and attach legs. (arms, eyes, noses can all wait!)
Playdate has been arranged - yay!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
It was 9.50 by the time dd had fallen asleep - not sure what was stopping her... At lunchtime, 2 pieces of popcorn seem to have pushed on a baby tooth and made it bleed. By tea time, the tooth was out - but where it was, only the Tooth Fairy knew! Fortunately the TF left the usual message and money -phew!
Playdate coming for 10am, but I NEED to get out for a walk and fresh air beforehand. Yeaterday's steps were pitifully low - around 2000. Oops. Won't make 30,000 for the month if I carry on like that.
Today:
- 10am playdate
- get cash out for travelling
- tidy downstairs
- finalise packing list - and pack it
- sort through the toys from dd and mend a couple before ch shopping them
- tidy away Monopoly
- blimmin' passport application
- phone dad
- get a walk inNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Separate conversations with the parents always bring on a list of things to do!
And I really need to do them, so no more ostrich...
- contact solicitor re clause in mum's mortgage, to check wording
- contact solicitor re deeds and possible deeds to be done with said deeds.
- in the event of a positive re deeds, then proceed with carrying it out
- research care homes and sheltered accommodation in both areas where they live.
- get a tick list off them, so can narrow down search/research
- contact solicitor re extending lease on mum's house - can we buy the freehold, as mum says others nearby have done so, so enquire who they used and ask for prices
Also
- send off dd's passport application and pay for express delivery return
- check with dh what 'big' things need doing in march and april -car breakdown, service, mot?, tickets to texas, accommodation for 2nd part of stay in texas, house insurance?
- sort out schedule for when dh goes away again- this sunday for 2 weeks ish - includes dd's assembly (prob a non-starter), dd's singing rehearsals (resulting in a v tired dd),dance, kids klub, my own y8 parents evening, dd's parents evening, possibly a dance exam certificate ceremony....
Don't think I would have come away if I'd known dh was going away again in 3 days, but he thought it had been put back by at least a week. The people who said that were wrong!
However, it has been an invaluable time spent with parents, conversations had that wouldn't work over the phone. So none of it is regretted.
Dd is struggling to sleep; mum has taken herself off to bed; so it is just me and scrabble u til dd snores! How I long to report 'filia stertit'...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Boy are dd and I happy to be home. Not the best of train trips, but here we are, so the world is now ok
.
Mum gave me £20 as we left - I didn't say no! Nearly had to use it for a taxi when the train had to stop due to a vehicle hitting a bridge... But we shared a taxi and lovely man could claim it back, so he paid :j.
All in all, it has been an NSD, a wash has just finished (2x spin, thanks Lilty!), and dh has made a chicken curry for tea as he wanted to switch off from yukky work.
He is now going on Tuesday, but still has the same return date. Hopefully this is the last trip for a while....
Tomorrow's plans include:
- wait in for parcel redelivery for dd
- aldee food shop
- take dd to dance
- tidy tables
- put washing away
- meal plan for the week
- tidy emails
- dd's passport!!!
- complete some mice (knitted 7 whilst away)
- workout while dd is at dance with dh
But it may all change...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Today has been a lovely day!
Dh took dd to dance so I did a big workout with proper warm up and cool down. Twas ZWOW #?: 30 burpee buy in, then 2x
- 10 wall handstand with press up (I took this to mean a normal press up, not a handstand one
- 20 weighted (10k) jump squat
- 10 each side row (5k) with knee lift to opposite elbow
- 10x 3 jump lunge + side kick
Took me about 17 mins and I then ran on the spot for about 13 more.
Dd much lomged-for Syl Fam package arrived - an eeebay purchase. And she's thoroughly enjoying it.
A good friend popped over with her 4yo son, and he played happily with dd and her friend, so we had a good catch up.
Dd watched Barbie in the Nutcracker and danced alomg to it. She also ate a massive tea - yippee!
And I started Kondo-ing my underwear drawers. Wow there is so much more space there now. Tomorrow is tee shirts and trousers. But first I shall do dd's drawers. She only has 3, but they are bulging, and there's a pile of stuff on top, plus a stacker box for jumpers.
I finished 4 more bunnies and started sewing up a mouse. Must see if my school is running an Easter fair. Don't think I'll bothrr with dd's school one after last time.
Nowt done on the 'must-dos' resulting from chat with parents. But dh and I have decided on our energy supplier + tariff for next year, and done the tv licence thing. So progress has been made. Dh has also done the passport photos and we have arranged to grt them signed tomorrow.
Tea was AGCJ pork meatballs. Enough for tomorrow too. And dh's curry. So all teas sorted until he goes away. I had a sub-£17 spend in aldee today. It only has to last until weds, but I was pleased to spend so little. And £3.50 of that was on 'nice' things for dd and dh.
dd is still restless so I shall mooch around mse for a little longer.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
7 days until the end of the month.
7 days not playing candee cruush saaga
8 items to craft/finish
1 parents evening, accompanied by dd
6 1/2 drawers to Kondo
3x workouts to do
3 days at work
1x gcse assessment to do and mark and collate marks for
2 bags for sally army
90000 steps required to reach 30k (must check this)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dd and I have successfully kondo-ed her drawers, which look mega awesome now. But I'm aware there is still plenty more to go in there, that is currently languishing in the washing basket...
We also emptied her wardrobe and went through the 'to grow into' boxes of shoes (given to us mostly) and clothes. Dd is exhausted by all the effort! And we have a huge bag of stuff to give away now - result.
I also did most of my drawers and have a few bits to get rid of. Dh has asked me to show him what I was doing and how to fold that way - another result.
I've kept off the candee cruush saaga today. And dyed my hair.
Can't quite get my head around returning to work tomorrow.
We got dd's passport photo and form countersigned, so need to sort out the payment and posting now.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
2 dayd of work done and dusted. 1 bag taken to sally army.
Car has gone for mot and service so I'm on the bus tomorrow. The to-do list is quite long, but the only reslly vital one is to post dd's passport application off.
I've kondo-ed dh's drawers! Couldn't help myself! The bloke has 40 pairs of socks and nearly as many tee-shirts too. Whilst at work I was able to read a little more of the Kondo thread, and made myself a list of areas to apply the technique.
I've already made samosas out of the plastic bags, ranger rolled the dusters and rags - and rag-bagged the really yukky ones.
Dd has dropped off, so I'm away to finish doing the awkward bags, maybe tackle the tea towel drawer, and hopefully pin some bunny bits ready for sewing. I know how to live!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
