I thoroughly enjoyed my walks today, and on my way to the library I reckon I beat the bus - my own personal challenge!! I confess to spending in a ch shop: £8.50 on a berghaus cagoule. I liked the look, shape, and big hood! And then £1 and £1.25 on 2 craft books. But it wad Christmas money, so I keep my NSD.

The library was also v forthcoming and I have read all of 'Holes' today. I skimmed through it about 5 yrs ago and kept meaning to give it anothrr read because I knew I had enjoyed it, but couldn't recall much detail. A second reading was very enjoyable.

I popped onto amzn trade in and tried out the 2 ch shop books, and the £1.25 one can make me 24p profit! Thrre were only 2 things os use to me jnside, so I have photocopied thos pages and off it will go!

  • Yay for beating the bus! :T That's one of the games I play too, lol.

This is just a quick pop in to say hello - I shall do some serious catching up on what you've been up to soon, but glad to see all has been going well :)

And well done on that exercise - I shall be joining you with similar hardcore activities soon (yay!) :D (though I put the blame squarely at your door for making me want to leap off the sofa and do high kicks) (though I daresay I'll thank you when I get my slim self back :rotfl:)

Helllllloooooooooo Pearla! Good to have you around again! I imagine that trying to catch up is like starting all over again :D.

Dd and I are having a very quiet day. We went to ballet and freestyle, followed by a short visit to the ch shops in that area, where dd found a few goodies including a Barbie annual for 2015 that she was looking for. Result :T. Saves me buying one off amzn!

Dh is safely arrived and gave us a call as he was going to bed, so dd is very happy now. I thought I was going to have 15 days of 'I miss daddy' and 'I want daddy home'!

I'm sure I should have achieved more from today, both as regards work and home lives. But can't think of what it should have been!

Today's life lesson: eating (almost) a whole humungous bag of aldee cheese puffs is a very bad idea indeed. Uncomfortable tum and other side effects that aren't mentionable in public.

So, no tea for me tonight!

Dd and I are pottering on quite nicely with dh away. THough we'd much rather he was home!

I've finished the knitted dolly for dd today - finally! Not just the knitting, stuffing and stitching together, but adding hair, a gathered skirt, a ribbon belt and felt wings. Dd gave it 10/10. :T

Got the MF workout 1 done again - I like this one the best of the 3. And I have eaten well today - weigh in is on Weds and I would like to be less!

Bought some loo roll from 1celand today. I rarely shop there nowadays but I'd mistimed the milk situation and needed some. I was pleasantly surprised that it is the same price as aldee. Anyhoo, I'd read on the make do thread (or was it the no buying thread???) about the Nicky loo roll. Well,we have nowhere that stocks it, and someone said that 1celand stocked Petal which was also Nicky. I think! So I bought 4 rolls for £1 and we'll see how it goes.

Wow! A whole paragraph on 4 loo rolls!

Took a bag to the Sally Army, so another £2 in the kitty. Already have another one filled up!

Right, off to wander up and down the lounge and get my steps to 10k!

Well, a few days have passed and life potters on.

£1250 paid off the mortgage this month :j. And over 15,000 steps done today:j.

After school, dd and I drove to a local area and hit the ch shops. Took another bag to the SA and dd had £10 bday money burning a hole in her pocket! But because it is HER money, she really considers every penny of it when faced with handing some over. She bought herself 3 good items for a total of £2.99.

I cut out all the bits for 3 bunnies today - very pink, girlie ones. And the next piece of knitting for dd has all 4 limbs done. Need to get a plan for the summer fair(s)....

We are not travelling up to Bham tomorrow. Mum isn't well at all and also would rather we didn't travel in this weather. The weather bit made me giggle as although it's cold here, there is NONE of the white stuff I so love. Grrr.

So, January is almost over. Time to start planning February: hosp appt for dd, half term, parents evenings, Kids Klub, plane tickets and texas trip to plan and book, after-school meetings and commitments, dh home on 7th, mum's bday, Valentine's day (mustn't forget!!)...

Wow! Well done on both counts, très impressive figures!

And I see some congratulations are in order for recent charity shop wins ;) I found myself a set of three brand new little pottery dishes (a spoon rest, which I've wanted for ages & the other two tiny pots will be great for used teabags & other kitchen bits) for only £1.55, I was so chuffed! I need to get back into the way of going round the shops, I've really missed finding such delightful bargains! It's just making sure I only buy things I need though.... ;)

You know there are only 28 days next month don't you?! :p I forgot about V Day, oh heck.... I've already got a card but heaven knows where I put it, argh!

Dd and I have had a lovely day together.

We woke without the help of an alarm clock and enjoyed a mooching couple of hours before going to ballet and freestyle. In that time, it started snowing really heavy flakes, which made us both jump around in excitement :D. The stuff didn't stay, u fortunately, but at least it made an effort.

We came home after dance, having decided earlier NOT to go into a local town to try to spend some money. Good move! We pottered along before charging out to the playground at 4 then charging home by 4.45 as dd needed the loo!

January has gone well. 19/18 NSDs, lunch to work every day, 17/16 exercise sessions, £196/£200 on food, £1250 to the mortgage. Fuel went over the allocated £100, but I filled up twice - and it used to cost over 75 just for 1 fill up, so am noticing the fuel price cuts at last.

February is aiming for 15 NSD, £200 still on food (have 1/2 term and dh may take some days off), £100 travel, 20 (!) exercise sessions, £1100 minimum to the mortgage. And 20 crafted items. And 300,000 step.

An chuffed that a thread I started 2015: sell £1000, got a mention in the weekly email :D. Just waiting for my icon to arrive!!

A great start to Feb has been had!

Got up earlyish and did an exercise session before my coffee had even brewed - go me! ZWOW #38 Sweat Shred 3x: 8x 5 jump lunge + burpee; 20 each arm 8k KB swing; 20 each side side crunch. Plus a warm up and cool down. All done before dd woke up. Result!

And while dd was at kids klub, I decided to go for a big long walk in the nearby huge park. I returned via the coop and was pleased to find reduced gf cornflakes (to make crunchy golden cornflake cakes for dd) and gf white bread flour down to 50p. Got 2! So, ys purchases and about 10k steps :j.

Needless to say, I was peckish when we got home. Glad to have planned it. - and written it down - yesterday, so just had to look at my notes.

A quiet afternoon planned. Dd is making a home for her Sylv Fam toys using a box and masking tape and I'm trying to finish the head on the latest knitted creation for her.
