happy birthday and how nice of the nation people to put aside such a gift for you!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Indeed, Watty. Very kind of them!
A week of invigilating done and dusted. I cried off from the centre where I needed to drive; I can get the bus or walk to the nearby one.
And another week showing that Pip stopping going to school was totally the right choice to make. He went to COMIC CON with dh yesterday and was telling me about it non-stop all evening! But he is struggling today - though I think he would say that it was worth it!
Job #4 starts today. Or maybe it should be job #1 as I started doing it first... Anyhow, I'm always glad that it starts in the half term break as I then have time to crack on with it.
Since Monday, so today is only day 6, I have been doing IF until lunchtime and then also avoiding sugar. It is working and having the desired effect. Now o remain consistent and trust the process. It might be being helped by the fact that my temporary crown that I got on Weds came loose that very evening, with the first appointment being next Tuesday! So I'm having to eat very carefully...

And all of a sudden, we're in June. A month of much busy-ness as I overbooked myself. Overcommitted myself.
I'm shattered and seem in a rather constant fug. But it will pass. Just need to keep doing what I've committed to doing and be kind to myself.

And the 2nd week of June was better than the first - phew! The b00b squish was surprisingly painful. But I had to giggle cos my belly kept getting in the way! It's its own fault for being so intrusive!!!
    Lovely rain-after-a-hot-day smell this evening.
And this morning I woke up at 5.30 so I got up and went for a version of week 2 of C25K. Loved it!
Tomorrow Pip and I head to a local craft and flea market, so we're both looking forward to that.
I have 47/200 scripts left to mark. In fact, I have 45 because I did 2 but stopped because there are so many things wrong with them. It'll be a rather long report that I write...
Anyhoo, Off upstairs soon with my book.

And ... I finished my marking a couple of days before the deadline. What a relief. The following day I did my final session of invigilating at one centre, followed by my final one at another the next day. My time is now my own! (Well, Pip's!!!!)
Tomorrow I hit Mancunia to get trained up for my next marking component. This one should be easier to manage as I'll not be trying to do it whilst out for 4+ days each week... Famous last words...???? Anyhow, the trip is a luxurious 2 days on my own with no responsibilities (apart from passing the training of course). I'll leave here in about 30 degree heat and arrive in about 20 degree coolness. Must remember to pack a hoodie!

I remember a work colleague having to go and buy tights in her lunch hour when we were working in Bolton. Everywhere south of Stoke had 32 degrees.
She never worked in 'The North' again!
Glad the marking is going well.
I have heard good things about 'The Allotment' - it is next to the Cathedral/Selfridges - and don't forget The 8th Day on Oxford Road for all your g/f d/f cake needs.
    Enjoy!

Thanks, f0xh0les. I'll admit that I went no further than the sainz in the station and my hotel! It was raining quite heavily when I arrived, and I was dripping whilst at reception!!! I happily munched in my room with a book.
Twas a good couple of days. ANd I'm primed and poised for my next component...
And I've been paid for my previous component, which was rather lovely. And not taxed  :D Uh oh! Just remembered that I've not handed in my timesheets for either of my invig centres. Yikes - must rectify that!
The school where I spent 21+ years of my life is to close in the next few weeks. Such a shame. And very sudden.
The paddling pool is filled and I've spent a happy time outside today. I think I'll be dunking myself in the water quite regularly over the next few days.

I have now handed in my 2 time sheets, so that might only be paid in rather a long time! I'm considering setting up a separate savings account to put my earnings in, so that they don't get swallowed up in the humdrum spending of life...
Very pleased that the weather has broken for a while. It was lovely to sit at the table doing my work and listening to the pitter patter of the rain.
Today I have a school fair - the last one for where I used to work. It's more an opportunity to maybe see people and say goodbye. And it's not raining, which will be lovely. Last year it pelted down and I was very happy to be inside the very large gazebo they'd put up for prizegiving.
