Annnd, September is here. With rain. The calendar is strangely bereft of Pip's term dates!
PIP application is still ongoing, but nearly there. Pip cried after reading it, poor mite.
The garden project is plodding on.
    September's theme is simplicity -
    • Simplicity is appreciating the small things in life.
    • Simplicity is freedom from material desires and emotional desires - permission to simply "be."
    • Simplicity avoids waste, teaches economy, avoids value clashes complicated by greed, fear, peer pressure, and a false sense of identity.
    • In human lifestyles, simplicity can denote freedom from excessive possessions or distractions, such as having a simple living style.
    • Simplicity is staying in the present and not making things complicated.
    • Simplicity calls upon people to rethink their values.
I have returned to making lists and am finding it very useful - no #### Sherlock!

PIP went off yesterday. Now it's a waiting game.
Today I had my second cataract sorted out. The first one was aaaaaages ago, so they are clearly not contagious! At the hospital just after 7 and home soon after 11. Result.

My eye is healing up nicely and I've had no issues with it, which is a bonus.
October has arrived. That came quickly! The heating has come on a couple of times - much to dh's joy and jubilation!!! It won'e be too long before we put up the door curtains and the stair curtains.
I have a plan for the month, including the NST challenge about Optimism, Opportunities and Overcoming Obstacles.
There's not much on the calendar so it would be really good to get stuff done in the garden.
-I've seen my neighbour who has done a shedload of work in his garden, and asked if I can buy some of the spare sleepers off him. He said yes! So my plans have changed a bit, but will still involve plenty of digging and moving soil around.
-There are several plants that need cutting back - apple tree, jasmine, passion flower, rose, phlox and honeysuckle. Then I'll need a tip trip for the garden waste.
-I recently bought a variety of daffs and need to plant them out.
I'm still chasing up unpaid work from Oct24 - March25. But it is in hand.
I do have a smidge of work this month so I must remember to log it and invoice it!
I need to 'sign up' to my dentist's plan - it's worth it financially even if all I do is 2 check ups and 2 hygienist visits per year.
I do currently feel like every day is a Saturday!

This morning I have splatted a big frog. It hadn't been around for many days, but it was a biggie for me.

    Wotcha peb!
I have phases where I read but don't post. All okay here. Dh in bed poorly and Pip exhausted from yesterday's dentist visit.
I meandered up to liddle this morning and got my free veg with a coupon, a free pastry for dh with a coupon and scored a box for the first time in months! Potatoes, tomatoes, radishes, peppers.
I've made tomato soup which I'll eat with a baked potato (did 5 in the air fryer) and I'll probably turn the peppers into some soup too- no way will we eat 17 of them 🤣.
There's plenty of apples to process too, mostly fallers, from the tree. I'm surprised we didn't get more dropping off in the wind. They're currently set out on the garden bench.

My neighbour has sold me his leftover sleepers for a bargain price - and there are loads of them! And when I've completed my plan, he has first dibs on the purple slate I have. I love my neighbourhood!
Dh is still rather poorly, yet he insisted on dosing himself up and going to church to do the PA. Pip insisted he wear a mask, so as not to share his germs. I suspect he'll sit in bed all afternoon, in recovery mode.
I was up at 2.30 with Pip - joint pain + cramps + mouth ulcers + a gum infection do not make for easy sleeping. I was only there for an hour, and I think I spend most of that hour sleeping with my head on a squishmallow on his desk with a fleecy blanket around my shoulders!

Ooph, the last 2 nights have been rough. Firstly with Pip again, then last night dh was snoring like Daddy Pig for aaages. Just as I was deciding to go downstairs and sleep on the sofa, he woke himself up and went to the bathroom, so I was able to wind down. This was around 1am.
I'm so proud of Pip - last night, around 9.30pm, I mentioned a local ish place advertising for Elves. He would be perfect! And by 11.30, he'd applied, along with a CV and personal statement thingy. The deadline was yesterday, and I'm so impressed that he didn't just think, 'Oh well, too late now.'
I have started work on the cunning sleeper plan. I hope to do a bit every day. Today's bit has been bringing more apples in to process and sawing a few smaller branches off the tree, plus starting on a few thicker ones, so that I can see what I decided to do.

Not only am I stewing a big pan of apples with cinnamon, but I also have the slow cooker full of apples and blueberries, plus about 16 apples that are actually fit to eat (ie no blemishes).
I made a yummy pepper soup the other day - but it was a whole slow cooker full and there's loads left. Plus the remains of the cauliflower soup and the carrot soup.
And I am currently airfrying the 10 peppers that didn't make the soup - which must've had about 10 other peppers in it.
    So much food!!!!!
