Not going to school has proved itself to be the right decision for Pip. I didn't doubt that it would be, but it is nice to be proved right! This morning I started sawing down the sycamore trees/saplings/branches growing from the stumps in the neighbour's garden and pushing into the fence and overhanging our garden. I don't like sycamore trees, horrible sticky tree things. After about 30 mins, dh came out and suggested using the drill with a metal circular saw attached. Much easier and far less sweat-inducing! And Pip now has a much better view from his window and we all have a lot more light, including the next few houses on the other side of the neighbour. Result. Dh might borrow a chainsaw from a friend this afternoon, so we can have a play with that later... Potentially very exciting!!I have a busy week ahead - 2 half days of invigilation, 1 full day in one centre, 2 full days split between 2 centres. It's very similar the next week - 2 half days in different centres, 1 full day in one centre and 2 full days split 2 ways. Then we'll hit half term and my marking starts! Can't recall if I mentioned it here: I checked on my Wide Nation account recently. My card was 2 years OOD (oops) and I'd not had a new one. So I got a new one sent, downloaded the app and was very pleasantly surprised to find that there's about 26K in there!!!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

I have restarted the couch to 5k. On my second run, early yesterday morning, I was felled by tree roots. (ie I tripped and fell!) Twice. Sigh. As the day went on, the aches and ouches increased and I figured I'd best go to a+e to check my left hand wasn't broken. By 10pm, I'd discovered that it wasn't broken, it 'just' had soft tissue damage - tendon/ligament damage. But I did come away with a splint!I am unable to drive as changing gear is massively painful, but can still invigilate at the nearby school cos I can walk or get a bus. The 7+ miles away centre would take at least 90 mins (bus in opposite direction, train, 30 min walk!!!), so unless I'm significantly better by Monday, I might need to cancel them for next week - only 2 half days, anyway. Then it's half term, so time to recover.Today's lovely highlight was a late bday present from step dd1: 3 pots of different types of gf licorice. I adore licorice but the gf version is so stupid expensive and hard to find that I just don't bother. Whilst in Canada I bought some licorice soap, and must have commented on it. And she remembered!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2
