Well done PIP.
And yes, how much food....1 -
ohh I had not thought of stewing my apples in the slow cooker. Excellent idea Thank youMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Well pip got through to the one on one interview, but heard yesterday that he wasn't offered the job, which left him quite devastated. However, he's perked up today and is feeling pretty positive about things.Soup is being consumed on a daily basis but it's like the Ben and Holly jelly flood, of the Abney and Teal porridge flood - never ending! As is the stewed fruit. I like it. I like it a lot. But however big a helping I take, there's still so much left!!!I've been cutting back the apple tree where I can and have a large pile of branches and twigs as well as all the old raspberry canes just loitering on the back garden soil. Most inconsiderate! There's also a shed load of ivy that I've pulled off the fence.I'm still waiting for some unpaid pay due last March to be paid. I was able to go in person and hand over the time sheet a few days ago, so I really hope that will be paid soon.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

More work on the apple tree and ivy has been done. I really really REALLY dislike ivy! The pile on the soil is exponentially higher!I have measured all the sleepers. And they all have a number on them (thank you Barnwood Builders!). In total, there's 19.5 metres of them, in 24 bits. I also moved them one by one once I'd measured them so that they're not sitting on the grass. It is time to apple for an EHCP for Pip. He would like to get back to doing something educational, and get something at level 3, be it an A level or a BTec. But we can't apply for college or suchlike until we have the EHCP, which takes months to get. Sigh. Guess I'd best get going and do something towards it!We also need to source some Catherine wheels fireworks.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

That is frustrating. Is it worth/possible to do self study for an A Level?1
-
Indeed you can self study for an A level but Pip has said that he wouldn't like the isolation of that. Online school might be different as it's in small groups. This morning I got myself up and out to invigilate only to discover that I wasn't needed. An email had been sent out but bizarrely neither me nor the other invigilator allocated for today had received it! I'm still going to claim for the 30 mins I was there and raring to go
I did get a good walk in as I opted not to get the bus there (it's only a little over a mile), and I was able to pop to sainz afterwards to get a few bits only available there. There is a local afternoon session in a few days, about navigating SEND, so I'll be going along there for help with the EHCP request. Phew. I'm just so overwhelmed by it all and am probably writing far too much!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3 -
The ehcp application is still waiting to be done as the advice was for Pip to write it. Here's why:We've had a reply about neet acknowledging it and giving us a whole host of links to look at whilst waiting for a case worker. And today we had a PIP phonecall giving them more info. Pip shouldn't need to have a face to face assessment as they now think they have enough information. We saw the Dr and Pip is having a few more blood tests done and being referred to rheumatology. And a certain clinic wrote to say that they were 'removing' Pip from their waiting list as he's nearing 18, and that he needs to be referred as an adult. The Dr has also done that.In short, it feels like we've gone from 0 to 100 very very quickly! In other news, I've recently spent over £200 in sainz and liddle, and was only really stocking up on what we normally eat. For 3 of us. Eek 😱NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Today I did a tough workout at the gym - and loved it!And as the weather was chilly but sunny, I also did battle with the big ol' jasmine out the front. And I won! However, it does all need bagging up and taking to the tip, so that is a tomorrow job.Dh managed to get hold of fireworks - both silent ones and low noise ones. Perfect.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Today I am very very grateful for getting a new-to-me dining table and 6 chairs from 0li0 for a bargain £100. It looks like oak and is certainly heavy enough for it. The seller had acquired it second hand and had it for over 15 years, but has to down-size now. She also thought it was oak at first sight - it is pine, but the older pine when the trees were allowed to grow for longer so that the wood is sturdier. Me and dh had 'fun' getting it all in out little car and on the roof (no roof rack!) and then squishing the 2 of us in - many contortions - and driving home as a snail's pace before unloading it.Pip has a friend over, so that has prompted me to dust, hoover, sweep, hoover again and clean certain areas of the kitchen floor - dh's eyesight is so poor he doesn't even see it! And he doesn’t walk around barefoot, like I do, so he doesn't notice anything sticky on the floor
