Well, calling it skip diving might be a tad exaggerated… There's a skip and I looted it! I freed several broken slabs for my projects in the garden.

The skip is not full - of rubble that is of no use to me at all. But a neighbour has told me of another place I can look 🤣 I'll take the car and have a look tomorrow - it's too far away to carry concrete pavers back home!

And today I have dug out the grass and soil, and laid a couple of slabettes plus I've done the jigsaw to cover the rest of the area at the front of the house. I have hefted an awful lot of heavy stuff around and my hands (and the rest of me, to be honest!) are letting me know that they need to rest!

I took Pip to college this morning and he only had a 90 minute class, so I loitered. And went for a run - it's flippin' hilly round there!

And this afternoon I played with the slab jigsaw again. I stopped because I was thwarted by a buried brick - a job for tomorrow, using a hammer and chisel. I want to finish the front of house project before moving to the back garden ones: lay the sleepers to make a kind of raised bed at the back of the garden, use other slabettes to make a kind of path for wheelchairs to get down the garden from the back gate, dig out a slope from the grass to the patio, finish the sleepers and bricks that edge the grass/patio. I'm not a fast worker so if I was paid by the hour, I'd be rich 🤣

Today it poured with rain all day. Nowt got done in the garden. Pip had a shocker of a day at college and I have written a 2 page email about his experiences there so far, and how they are totally failing him and his needs. Ugh. We are all exhausted.

I'm off to bed!

Quite an exhausting week. Mentally, emotionally, physically.

The woman who was supposed to be writing Pip's EHCP has left the service without doing it. U.n.b.e.l.i.e.v.a.b.l.e.

We have been assured that a senior practitioner will do it next week. Well, that's all going to be rather too late, methinks. Pip won't be going back to college without at least a draft plan.

We had a meeting with the college and their hands are tied without the draft plan. However, if they had warned Pip about the chaos and confusion that was likely to occur at the start of the term, at least he would have been prepared for it, even if he still found it horrible.

A request has gone in for Pip to change one of his subjects, but is dependant on space being available.

In other news, I've almost finished digging out the soil and laying the slabs at the front side of the house. And I've started digging, levelling and laying the sleepers to make a raised bed across the back of the back garden. Once the sleepers are in place, I can then make a wheelchair path from the gate to the slope that I need to dig from the grass down to the patio. Happy times ahead!

We finally have the draft EHCP and Pip found a course he wanted to do elsewhere, as he had such a shocker of a time at the original college. BUT the college that offer the course wouldn't take him. Sigh. Various reasons. We'll try for next year . Double sighs.

He's been withdrawn by us from the original college. No way was he going back there.

The poor kid has been floored by the whole experience of the last 3 weeks.

And tomorrow he has both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy, poor mite. The prep isn't nice, fasting and drinking gross gloop to ensure a clean bowel. We are wondering if the cameras will meet in the middle 🤣

It is so important for me to keep going to the gym and doing hard sessions. That plus my happy pills are just about keeping me sane. I think!

Aw that all sounds rubbish for Pip, sometimes it feels like institutions haven't progressed at all. Eeek to the double camera exploration ☹️
