I'm still going to go up there on sat as I can't go on sun, nor the following weekend. Big sis is going sun to Tues. So we'll get an idea of how mum is.

Gotta go to work tomorrow. Ugh.

Oh my, thats amazing for your mum!  Yes, that definitely sounds like recuperation rather than hanging in.

I had to leave work early today (what a shame!!!) to collect pip (not so good). They had a migraine and have slept all afternoon. Poor thing.

Tomorrow's trip is once again the day after strikes. But I'll not be rushing as much as I did last Sunday. I want to get the 9.10 from Euston, so can probably have  lie in until, oooh, 6.30.... Lucky me.

I've been needlefelting and using the newish toy that holds 6 needles. Most of which have pierced my left index finger at some point, drawing blood. Ouchie. The finger pad is now a nice purple colour!

Travelling was super smooth yesterday, both ways, which was a blessing.

Mum slept for most of the time I was there, which is unusual. But I did get some juice and watered down (with milk) custard down her. I think that, sometimes, she 'forgets' to swallow because you can see when she remembers and swallows the liquids. She does look like a little old lady. But she wasn't agitated or fretful at all.

Mum is degenerating. Due to a large pressure sore (they found it when it was small, and were ointmenting it, so what the heck happened for it to grow??) mum now has to lie on her side and is turned every 2 hours. So she cannot drink. Not good.

Big sis went home today and will return on Sat. I'm going up on Thurs for the day.

Sending a lot of love Apple and to Apple's-mum. Pressure sores are horrible things, the knock on impacts as well as being uncomfortable. It sounds like you and your sister are doing an incredible job of being there when you can x

They can come on very quickly, especially when they are frail, and asleep a lot.   My heart goes out to you and your family. I hope it comes with kindness and peace.  You have been able to say your goodbyes which is a blessing and will bring you comfort. Even if it doesn't feel like it now. You think you are prepared, but you never really can be.

Heart goes out to you. I don't think you can ever really be prepared however much one thinks one can, it does hit hard when it happens I think because however much we know it is time out hearts just don't want it to be.
