Apple muncher's number crunching

Day 3 of May and day 3 of no added sugar and day 3 of IF until lunchtime. Whoop!

A quick visit to my favourite charity shop got me a white summer top and a plethora of cups and saucers which I plan to use for my needlefelting.

I'm in work tomorrow to do all my orals. I'll be very glad to get them finished! Roll on 3pm tomorrow...

Big sis is with mum, who is currently not quite as close to death's door as we thought earlier on. But she isn't doing well. I'm going up tomorrow

It's hard to know what to say. Having prepared myself for mum being very much on the way out, I have to adjust to that possibly not being the case. Yes, she is deteriorating badly. But instead of waiting until thurs for the dr to visit, why not assume she has a UTI and give her more antibiotics. Please! Seems like the dr will give an old person antibios when it's hard to get a urine sample up north. but not in the midlands... She's 91 and deserves to be comfortable.

We got some liquids into mum and after a couple of hours, she did perk up and become more coherent. She can no longer get up herself or wriggle in a chair or turn herself over at night.

Big sis is staying for a few days and will obviously call if things deteriorate.

I'm a bit limited with going up as pip has exams for 10 days starting this weds. So I'll just have to see how it goes. We have 3 fab carers from Home Instead who go in and see mum every day for an hour or two, and they are all willing to do more. Mum has enough money to pay for it and they are so, so good with her.

She must have a very strong physiology, apple, when you're expecting it to be acute and it suddenly becomes chronic, for now anyway.  Such a difficult situation that you and your sister are in: I'm glad there's money for carers, at least.

Pip has done day 1/7 of end of year exams. They are still coherent, which is a win! They are in an individual room, which means that they can use a noisy fidget, talk, stim, walk around.

And I did a full day of invig - y12, so all very nice.

I've talked with big sis re mum. It is hard to judge but the home think that there are only a few weeks left for mum. If pip is okay with it, I may go again on Sunday.
