Sending love to the whole orchard of apple's family. I'm glad it sounds like Mr AM and Pip are able to hold the everyday bits of your world together. x3

I'm so sorry, Apple - condolences to you and all your family. Grace and dignity are wonderful testaments to her life.2023: the year I get to buy a car2

Thank you one and all ♥️. It really was a special time. And a privilege. Granny apple is now at peace, no longer confused, scared, or in pain.Big sis and bil are still in bham until about Thurs - dodging the train strike days to get back home. I came home yesterday after we'd cleared mum's room. It was a darned sight simpler than when we did dad's house! Big sis walked me to the station and I left her and bil to collect all the wonderful photo albums mum had made up (and labelled - thank you mum! She travelled a lot and did a lot of interesting things) and to say her final goodbye to the room that was mum's life for the last 7+ years. It is lovely to be home and with DH and pip. I fell asleep by 9.30 as pip was next to me playing on their ds and chatting away to me! And 11 hours later, here I am. Today I'm going to the gym, to work out some of the kinks I've acquired in the last few days.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Pip said today that they are struggling with processing grandma, and it keeps popping up randomly. Totally normal and I think it's the same for me.I have passed my 'tests' for marking and can start live stuff soon.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Absolutely normal, you're dead right. Even if it wasn't normal - we all do grief our own way - "normal" in this case just means that 99% of the human race know exactly what's meant.2023: the year I get to buy a car1

Pip says that they grieved for mum about 5 years ago when they were old enough to understand the dementia, so the physical loss of the body isn't that different.Today I have been sucked into spending by at 50% off everything by my favourite needlefelting supply store. Whoop! and Whoops!Marking is progressing ok. I have realised that with the funeral date, I lose the final 3 days allocated to marking. So I need to get as much done as I can during the half term break, to ease the pressure of fitting it around school and invigilating. So far, 14/200 complete, so 7%.Dh is currently at the hospital - an appointment for his eye after the trab. Yesterday it looked rough, like some gelatinous stuff had (in dh's words) moved from the back of the eye to the front. Gulp. He's seeing the consultant, so can find out if that is normal.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3
