Today. Y10 vocab colouring and raffle and fun to start the day. Y9 doing the aforementioned (oooh, go me with my big words...) project and possible raffle to end the day. In between, an outside lunch duty, reports to write, and hopefully some end-of-year sorting in my room.

The day has potential...

Minimal sorting got done, but all reports are now completed. Duty was dry after a lot of morning rain. I even had a go at basketball with the kids - I was on the short team! Many text books taken back in. One cover completed.

2 project lessons + raffles tomorrow. Hopefully no cover... Maybe even a peek at my timetable for next year...??? If you are a department with several teachers, then you already have yours to look  at. But we're so small that most departments are 1 person. And we are clearly not worthy of being told much...

Anyhow, need to return pip to school - performing/rehearsing at the Open Evening. Then pick up 3 hours later. Poor thing is exhausted already.

Watch this space for a meltdown/shutdown/collapse...

Good that you can see the triggers and  can recognise the signs.  Hugs  for when you need them, just remember it is not personal.

Like Foxholes said, meltdowns coming your way aren't personal.  I hope it all goes well for the rest of today, on every level.

I agree about the meltdowns. Thank you for the reminders.

We have 3 v tricky days ahead.

Tomorrow, pip has a lamda exam in the day, rehearsal until 5 or 6 after school and dance 6-7. Dh is out in the evening. I have my Team Leader role that is v busy Thurs and Fri. And I'm at work too.

Friday, pip has a morning rehearsal 8-9, an after school rehearsal until 6, and dance 6-8. Me and dh have an online meeting with pip's Head at 8.15. I have Dr appt at 9. Possible TL role in day; otherwise, my own marking (us 'senior' peeps got early access this year so I got started today instead of Sat. Soooo wonderful to get a little ahead). I have prize giving so am out 5.30-8.30 ish. Plus evening TL calls afterwards.

Sat, dh is out all day from about 7am until 11 pm. I take pip to bouldering then straight to the dance show rehearsal and actual show. So we're out from 9.45am-10pm. Oh, and I may need to do more TL stuff somehow...

Well, whaddya know? Yes, I got put on my 3rd cover of the week (somehow I must have offended!), but the day was a good one.

And when I got home, pip was already there! They didn't need to be at the rehearsal. Yay! So they had time to chill before dance, and I got to make a couple of examinery calls. All in all I got 5/14 made today. Not too shabby -and dependent on them being ready/finished, not me.

Even better, the pre- and post-school rehearsals tomorrow do not require pip's attendance either. Triple yay! We still have all the other stuff on, but I plan to get to the gym for 6.30am now, so as to be back for the 8.15 video call.

And pip might go in for tomorrow afternoon, but we'll see. It's a chance to catch up a bit on some sleep and rest, instead of ploughing on and then needing 3 or 4 days to recover from the Sat stuff.

Pip stayed off all day and is still quite wobbly. They're not going Bouldering tomorrow, which simplifies getting to the show place, and means they can get more sleep.

My team all got through their standardisation and will progress to real live marking tomorrow. Turns out we can claim phone costs, so I'll do that, as I made a note of the call lengths. And I was all finished by 9.30. phew. With no one left over until tomorrow.

Prize giving was surprisingly good fun. Never known one like it for the enthusiasm and whoops for kids getting their prizes. It was really quite special.

Dh is up and out by 7.30 tomorrow so I shall endeavour to lie in until 7... Then it's coffee and my own marking for a bit before waking pip.
