I always used to find the free time in a hotel because of a meeting felt really luxurious - enjoy yourself!

I went and used the gym, which is rather poor given the poshness of the hotel. Lots of dumbbells, but only 4kg then 14kg and more. Humph. Not impressed. Anyhow, I did a workout using a 14 k one, then did 20 cals on each of 5 cardio machines. So I made sure it was worthwhile.
Back in the room, the remote wasn't working so I looked for buttons on the machine. Got it switched on, to discover that the previous occupant had last watched one of those adult channels that kick in at 11 pm. Eek 😵. Cue a trip to reception with the remote to get a replacement! I think I've turned it off, but I guess I'll find out at 11...
I didn't change my hotel reservation so I'm far away from the meeting tomorrow(well, a fair walk). I've kept in touch with a friend I met here years ago, but she's staying elsewhere. We've both realized we don't know anyone else!!!
I'm sat in a massive bed with a lovely duvet, high up (5th floor) so I can see lots of sky. I brought some needle felting but quite tired myself out at the gym with the weight, so have only made 2 penguins (no eyes or nose/beak yet) whilst watching utube.
Now to read my book and set an alarm for tomorrow. Despite waking before 6 on a daily basis, you can bet I'd oversleep tomorrow without an alarm...

  • I misread that and thought the dirty channel had been left on the screen of some gym equipment, I was going to be impressed, intrigued and slightly concerned by whoever can exercise to that kind of content!

    😂😂😂
Well I set my alarm. For 6 instead of 7. D'oh! So it was a very leisurely morning. I wandered out just after 7, to get myself a coffee and was amazed at how quiet it was. Then realized it's a strike day! Big shout out to Upp3r cru5t in the train stn who were open and who did a superb decaf coffee. (As it jolly well should be for £3.09...)
The day flew by. Excellent meetings. Nice food. Caught up with my friend - 3 years and a lot has happened for both of us- afterwards, then back to my room and I called pip. Who was very very chatty, which was great.
And then I went out to find some food. Train stn all closed, so I had to go a bit further afield. But all is well, I found a small sainz.
Finally, took myself to the gym before eating but just did cardio machines. I never do machines, so it was quite a novelty.
I am now showered, and eating as I type.
    And suddenly it's nearly bedtime!

All in all a good weekend was had.
Home via Leeds, took 6 1/2 hour, ugh. But dh and pip collected me from the station which was fab. Straight into food and clothes prep for Mon and to bed.
Didn't sleep well, and was then up at 5.50 to go in on the buses. I was 'lazy' and caught buses for most legs of the journey both ways (I did walk the last 1.4m to school, as the connections had been walk-off-walk-on and I didn't fancy getting there at 7am. But I did hwk club after so only left at 5, and bussed all the way home)
It is just so good to not be working tomorrow!

    A good day.
Pip at school, me to liddle and the gym, me and dh out to friends's place for lovely lunch and great company, pip to lamda, dinner currently cooking and was reduced in liddle 😎.
Only 5 more working days. We were reminded yesterday to show the best of our projects to SLT this week. Sigh. It was last mentioned as a 'we'll get back to you about the logistics/sense of every pupil doing projects in every subject at the same time'. No mention since. Bl00dy heck. Fortunately, my y9 have 2 lessons and can do a project about a francophone country, using their phones and producing a poster/fact sheet at the end. My half y8 group have just 1 lesson, so can do a famous French person from the text book, and use phones for extra info. Phew.

Just thought I'd mention that I went back into liddle to buy hummus cosmic was 37 p short of getting the £10 voucher. 😎 I couldn't see myself going there again in the next 2 days, so an extra 10-15 mins was well worth £10 .😎
