And... we're home. Another super smooth journey with supremely good connections on each leg.And we're nearly all unpacked. All my clothes except what I'm wearing went straight into the laundry basket. Dh hadn't worn half of his! He is definitely an overpacker 😂.Dc is up in their room, appreciating being surrounded by their stuff, the washing machine is on, Father Brown is on the TV and a big fat bee can't find its way out.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Good to hear (except for the bee - I prescribe a glass beaker and a piece of paper, or an open window2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Some gardening has been gardened. Carefully timed sessions to maximise my hands. Mowing. Weeding. Uprooting. Even planting of 2 potatoes!Dh has mended the trellis at the front and stained it, hoping to help it last a bit longer. One day I'll plant the clematis and maybe also dig up and replant a honeysuckle that isn't very happy where it is.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Up and out for a little run before my body realised what I was doing this morning.Washing out on the line. I'm not giving it the usual extra spin, thus saving a few nano-pennies.Out soon to bouldering with dc. Thus spending gazillions of nano-pennies!!!Plodding through revision with dc, as they return to end of year exams next Thurs. Past experience has shown me that I need to keep on top of it, as Dc can't do the whole 'set a schedule and just do it when arranged' as their awareness of time is too squiffy. They are happy for me to be the baddie and tell them to do it. Phew. Currently translating work written for a Spanish speaking test into German for the German speaking test 😆.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Welcome home! Hope you're enjoying the holiday.2

I think that going away makes it feel like it has been a proper holiday. I'm back on weds (officially Tues, but don't work that day, so not looking to be going in. But I may go for an hour on Tues for Sims training as I've never used it before and will need to hit the ground running on weds.). Dc is back on Thurs and straight in to exams. Dh is not back until the following Mon. But he broke up a week after us.I've potted up a hydrangea I bought to go in the front, and dug up a sickly honeysuckle and potted that up too. Hopefully they'll both benefit from being in compost.I discovered that the bag of compost that had been opened and overwintered was super soggy and smelled rather like slurry 😵! So I opened a fresh bag for my potting on exploits. And have emptied the slurry bag into the base of dh's strawberry planter, to dry out a bit... Shhh, don't tell him...Lovely neighbour mowed all the front lawns yesterday. And a friend has been found to help dh replace the bottom sill board of the bin cupboard. It's always a bigger job than just cut a fresh piece of wood... Scraping out all the dead wood... Trying to find hard wood on a bank holiday... Friend will source suitable wood tomorrow for us and help dh do the necessary jiggery pokery to sort it out.It is a good feeling to be doing positive things for the house.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

SIMS *rolls eyes* it can do amazing things but looks so old fashioned (bit like me!).3

We're moving from bromcom to Sims. So bromcom must be super OOD!!! Sims was just starting being used when I last moved jobs. And that was 20 years ago, so it's had time to bed down...

Ooh - I see more people move from sims to bromcom. Sims now require a minim 3 year contract, I believe - so have lost customers because of that. We use cloudschool/ progress. The other 2 schools I've worked at use sims - it's quite easy to pick up, but I don't know how it compares to bromcom.
Glad you had a good breakx

Another good gym session this morning, while dh took dc to bouldering. Dc has a couple of friends there. One lives just a couple of miles away from us, or about a 10 min drive; the other lives about 40-50 mins in the opposite direction. So meeting up outside of bouldering would be tricky. But I'd spotted a park, complete with skatepark, when I took dc last, so suggested they go and check that out. Then the kids could have some time together there after bouldering one week. It went down well!More weeding this afternoon, of the raised planters we built last autumn. And I then sowed a myriad mix of a myriad seeds, mostly OOD ones. So we'll see what sprouts. I also sowed sunflower seeds in pots- rather than give the slugs and snails a snack.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5
