Well, dc's temp has gone up half a degree, to 38.1. Still not a 'fever' I think, but they are closed up with IBU and paracetamol and snuggled in bed. Their temp usually runs a bit chilly,so 38 is quite high for them. I've agreed not to waken them when I return home to orris, but just to let them sleep...I am getting some rest, I promise! Just the usual sch prep to do, and I've already done some of it.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

How on earth did I spend £80 in liddle...????? Well, £15 on choc+ £15 on bacon + £3 on wrapping paper + £17 on gifts for stepdd1+gs + £10 on plants (hydrangea and clematis) = £60 of that. Wow. At least I had my £20 coupon to use. But still quite a shock to the ol' system!Dc seems to have slept ok and wasn't up in the night. Their temp is only slightly raised now but they are all achey and feeble. They loathe being ill; it scares them.I had a smashing gym session. Loved it.Just done some marking that a pupil sent me (I requested it + he needs the practice!) and am now working through the laundry ...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

I can understand the liddle spend shocking you, but your analysis shows perfectly well you didn't spend on unnecessaries and rubbish. Stocking up, like on the bacon, costs at the time, but its good practice when your cash flow can cope
Hope today is restful for you and healing for dc2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Oops, just realised that it was £15 total for bacon and choc. Not each!Today I took myself to the gym whilst dh took dc to bouldering. Then had a quick hot bath and a good scrub before they got home. Dc cut my hair and I have dyed it pink again 😎.Packing lists are written (nowt packed as yet...) and tomorrow we're off on a jaunt to the IOW for a few days. Cousin is picking us up and taking us to her place until ours is available, which makes for a very lovely arrival that end.I've had a chat with dc, about how meet ups with family will no doubt involve food/eating. They agreed that that is ok for them, so long as we make sure that they have eaten beforehand and won't have to eat in front of people. Likewise if we go to a cafe - just go for drinks. No. Food. At. All.So a hefty part of our packing will be food for dc!! Especially as we travel on a Sunday so it'll all be closed by the time we arrive. And finding gf /df stuff can be tricky at the best of times, so it's simpler to take almost everything with us. Plus dinner and brekky for dh and me, of course!Somehow it feels as if staying just 3 nights requires almost the same amount of gubbins as staying for a week!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

3 nights *does* need as much gubbins as 7, that's true
but have a lovely time anyway, that's going to be a lot of fun.

Weeelllll, I first dyed it in the summer, fully expecting it to have washed out by the time September arrived ( it's only semi permanent, 2-50!!! washes). Except it hadn't. We had a new head, so he only saw me with 'tinted' hair. It takes really well on the grey 😂. Then I did another dose for the final day before Cmas. No comment. So, why not?. Truth be told, I probably should have done it a week ago to give it a bit longer to fade slightly... Ah well, it'll have at least 2 if not 3 washes before going back...

And here we are, on the Island. On holibobs. Top floor flat (3 floors , so no bother that there's no lift!) Lovely cousin picked us up from the Cat and we had a fab hour with her before our place was available.Dc is wiped out. From the travel and from the hour with cuz. We've also had a brief video call with step dd1 who is over from Canada and staying with her mum on the Island, hence our little jaunt down here. They arrived today and didn't sleep en route ,so are shattered. We're tentatively meeting up late tomorrow morning, they're coming here. But we're all flexible.Weather is dry, so anything goes!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

I am just so glad to have had a few days away. We return home tomorrow morning, but it has been so lovely here. Simple. Simple living. Seeing step dd1 and her family each day, so time with her, her dh and their ds. Dgs took to dc, which was fab. And dc was able to say when things got too much, and we planned accordingly. Lunch out in a great place yesterday and today we avoided mealtimes completely. My cousin lives here and we had time with her Sunday and yesterday, and today she took me to her fave café. Good gf offerings and coffee. And local artists' work. And I bought a painting! Then we took dh and dc back there and we're lucky enough to meet the artist! And cousin took us all over to see step dd + co this afternoon, and stepp dc's mum (ie dh's ex...) brought us back. So we saved a lot of time by not being on the buses.Home tomorrow, which will also be very lovely!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1
