I had a good day at work today. I had 2 outside duties (helped out a friend by doing their one) and the weather was just lovely. Got some pesky outstanding paperwork done.Once home, dc was pretty chirpy, talked me through a potential trip (a couple of nights away), and started on their Art hwk. Then simply said, 'I'm not coping' and that was that. Suddenly drained, all energy gone, even for changing into jamas. I feel so helpless. They say that it is due to still masking so much at school. So I suggested that when they get home, they go and put on their 'stimming' music and have some fun for a bit. It's worth a try...Dh is out (hopefully having fun) so it's down to me. Off now to see how the land lies...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

That sounds like a good experiment, for dc to do something completely different - and if running out of energy like that is an issue, then yes, it's not only conserving energy, it's restoring. You're doing so well to keep thinking and trying, there's lots of communication going on, it does sound like everything will turn out right in the end.2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Yesterday's meltdown never really got recovered from. Dc had a largish one in school and couldn't remember what to do, so messaged me. I said to go to the nurse and tell her that they want to go home. I also told dh. Dc had previously been reluctant to go to the nurse, but she was so gentle with dc that dc now feels safe there. A very good thing. The sofa has arrived. It is rather massive and the space I'd cleared clearly wasn't enough! But it is truly gorjus...!Dh took dc up to dance and I was able to get back from my parents evening in time to collect. Dh is now out, and I've learned my lesson from last night and am keeping quiet. So dc and me are sat on our beauuuutiful lovely sofa, each doing our own thing. I'm pretty sure that tomorrow won't be a schoolday, really. And fortunately I'm not at work so it doesn't matter.I slept really badly last night, in that it was more fitful dozing than sleep. I'm hoping for a better night tonight...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Happy new sofa! Sympathy for the meltdown xxx1

Very happy new sofa indeedy!Dc is not going in today - still recovering and not enough energy to mask.Dh has a visitor this morning, so I'm taking dc out as they hate having visitors! They'll sit in the gym cafe while I workout, then come to liddle. And no need to mask.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

It was the right thing to do, keeping dc off school. They have benefitted from down time.I got to go to the gym, we both had a little walk around the market, I did a quite substantial liddle shop. Lots of veg 😁. And some bits for dc's school's collection for Ukraine.2 loads of laundry have mostly line dried.I have dug up a couple of pesky tree thingies - I start the job and get dh to finish it when I've reached my limit. He's good like that! Especially when it's simply a case of removal! I also did a fair whack of weeding (grrr to limitations of knees and back and hands...)Dh has mended the outside tap. We think. It did involve turning off the water to the whole house for a while...Dh also did a tip trip- garden waste, old microwave, 3 half broken foldy wooden chairs.I've printed a couple of docs for work and home.I've posted a couple of things on olio. And put the non-slip under-rug thingies down. Now to make dc's tea, then ours, then take dc to youth (I'll stay: it's 90 mins, it's inside, I have WiFi!)Tomorrow I'm attending a conference 10-3.30, plus an hour each end for the bus.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

That's a lot of jobs you've managed to get done, as well as having dc accompanying you and needing time. Very, very productive day, well done you2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Glad DC benefited from the day off x2

Conference day. Understanding ACEs. Very good. Also got a couple of Ch shop visits in there: velcro sandals for dc, shorts + sleeveless work top+ exercise top for me, bedside table for dc (down from £20 to £5!). Total:£16.50. And, everything fits! We're all very tired. Pesky loss of an hour's sleep looming. Even peskier as dh and I are both on duty at church so have to leave the house by 8.30 (or 7.30 to our body clocks...). Dc is sensibly staying home.I got an early wash done and on the line before leaving this morning (at 8.40), which dried. Then I did another when I got home- that one is outside now and will dry tomorrow. And then, I did get another load, as DC needs a certain tee shirt for tomorrow, which is on the airer inside. I have no idea how we have generated so much washing recently...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1
