Dc was back in sch today after 2 days off with a stinker of a cold. I also had it (though I wasn't as snotty) so was very glad not to work on a Tues. Dc spent most of the 2 days on our bed, plugged into various bits of tech, with a couple of books and the duvet. They had no guilt over work missed (which shows that they really were poorly) and headed back today, quite nervous, but it went well. Phew.I spent a lot of yesterday on school stuff, but although it was quite a drag, it meant that I'd done the thinking and planning of some stuff without the pressure of the deadline. I plodded through today, knowing that I could always fall back on some utube clips re Black History Month in France/French. Or bingo. And I printed out several past papers to amend for the mocks next month. One more day of work until my half termNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Not the relaxing Friday I was hoping for...Didn't sleep well and woke up very snotty and sore throaty.Took dc to sch in car. Came home and picked up dh and back to dc's sch to meet with Head.(dc doesn't know we did this so we couldn't all travel up together!) Short drive to my GP appt. Out to a not quite so near sainz Which is currently the only place to get dc's nuggets. Straight on to meet a friend for coffee in totally opposite direction from sainz. Home. Lunch. Saw a text from dc re needing their laptop - had forgotten it. So drove up to the sch to drop it off. Home. Some ab exercises as I needed to do something. Dc made own way home. Fed them. Prepped our tea. Taking dc out to youth in 10 mins then back for tea then out to collect dc for 9. Then home to bed. I hope...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Sounds like you're really suffering with this cold Apple, let's hope it's on its way out now. Good to read dc is feeling well enough to go out and about too, that sounds positive. I hope you can get the support they need.

I got out by myself today.I needed it.It helped.Being with/ keeping an eye on dc 24/7 on my own is too much. Dh is working this week 6.30-1.30 ish, but was straight out yesterday, and back in time to go and lock up, so home by 7pm. And on Mon he took a phone call as soon as he walked in the door, which lasted an hour and then he had to do computer work. Today he had to do extra, but was back by 2.40, so I went to the gym.I've told him that I need to get away for a night (suggested to me by a very good friend, who actually suggested a week - that would be a ton of blue haired shrieky smilies...) next week, so plan to travel up to bham with big sis after she visits us. It means I can go and see mum, but that's not why I'm going. It's just easy to travel with big sis, and will make sense to dc. I expect to only spend a short time with mum, and then spend time doing things I enjoy : maybe walk in the big park, mooch in charity shops, read...I'm also overwhelmed by the state of the house. It is so bad that I'd be embarrassed to have the aforementioned very good friend see it, and she's seen it in a mess before! She's offered to help me sort my stuff out next week. And that has already spurred me to make a start. I'm only touching my own stuff. No one else's.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

That's a very good idea, or rather several very good ideas. Being on alert like that, all the time, is unsustainable.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Make/Buy a cake, get your friend round, have a 'I'm tidying my room - honest!' tea and cake and the odd spot of lobbing stuff in a c/shop bag session. It will do you good. It will do dc good to see you interacting with another human being, it will give your brain ten minutes off dc-watch. You must be mentally exhausted. Your friend wants to be a friend. Let her. It is not a weakness.Massive massive hugs. Friends do not give a monkey's if they have to do the washing up before you can make them a cup of tea. Friends see you need a hand, and offer one.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
