Dearest @apple_muncher just sending love and admiration for all you do. It seems awful now but I had a friend in this situation and things settled down after a year.  Seems ages I know.  You are quite right to speak to DH and spell out exactly what you need.  Humdinger xx

Did you manage to get your exercise in today?
Congratulations on making it through another working week.   Onl y5 weeks left now til you break up for those festivities.
I have just been trawling through the emails about local nonsense going on - what dates the ice rink is up, when the big wheel is coming, when the lights are being lit, or switched on, or whatever they call it this millennium, what craft fairs and markets are where, all that jazz.   Will dc come to the craft fairs with you? Are they looking forward to anything?  Have you anything planned yet, or are you simply in firefighting mode? ,  I cannot imagine the level of anxiety you must be feeling right now.  My  heart goes out to you.

Thanks humdinger. Roll on a time when we can look back on this  rather than be in the middle of it.
Yes, f0xh0les, I made sure that I got a run in. Dc had messaged me to ask if I could try to get home quickly, but I decided to still go and run because I wanted to, and I knew that they were safe at home with dh. So I waddled around the park, 18m08, and still made it home by 4.30.
Then had a online parents eve 5-7. Fortunately, we can set 'breaks' where we are unavailable, so I was able to take and collect from dance. Usually, I'd not let dc go out in the evening if they had been off sch but this is a MH thing and going to dance is usually a good thing to do. And today, it was. One of the mums stays there so I told dc to go and sit with her if they needed to get out. Dc said that this mum was nice, so they'd be fine going to them if nec. Praise indeed!
I don't think dc will go to sch tomorrow, as they spent this morning just laying on the floor as dh worked. I'll try to get a call-us-on-the-day Dr appt for them.
I do want to go to the gym first thing, then to liddle (got a £5 voucher in a mag). So must remember to call Dr at 8 when I'm out! I'm also seeing the Dr, who is keeping an eye on me. And getting my flu jab, so don't want to go to the gym after that. Plus, dh will be out, so I can't!

  • Yay - I went to the gym for 7am ish, then on to liddle for 8 ish. Except I'd forgotten the voucher, so just went in to peek at the reduced section and the veg boxes. And it was worth it. For £5.79, I got:
-2 packets of Gosh! falafel thingies, though I think I was only charged for one...
    -4 huge mushrooms
    -quiche for dh
    -aloo gobi sag
-strong salad leaves (no weaklings here...)
    -wild rocket (not tame)
    -big tub of hummous
    And the veggie box contained:
    -5 nanas
    -5 small oranges
    -750g salad tatoes
    -1kg onions
    -2 apples
    -1 organic cucumber
    -2 small romaine lettuce hearts
    -2 aubergines (bleurgh)
-500 chanteney carrots (piddly little blighters...)
Now, I'll need to go back to spend my £40 and remember the voucher, though with choc being reduced on the app this week, plus putting items in the food bank container, it should be easily do-able.

I have also been to see my dr, who thinks that taking St John's Wort is a good idea. So I'll be doing some research into that. I got my flu jab too. First time in decades. And maybe the last time in decades if I react badly to it! (that's why I got up and went to the gym this morning, in case I felt yukky later on)
Dc is still off sch today and we're back to the dr's for them soon. I gave the dr a heads up about what it would concern and he is most supportive. Phew.

Apple that's good.  Young people have had it so hard with all the lockdowns.  I'm no medic but I seem to hear about young people going through gender reassignment and fluidity having this reaction at some point.  All those I've heard about then get to the point your DC has reached.  Good idea to get SENCO input.  We're all here for you.  Keep going love Humdinger x

I have renewed my driving license online today. and discovered that dc's passport ran out 18 months ago. Oops. :D

Had an excellent talk with the mum of one of dc's friends, who is a senco and whose own child is in a similar situation to mine. So she gets me completely as well as being able to give both advice and personal experience. Dc is already anxious about the consequences of getting a diagnosis, yet also wants it asap...

    I am eating quite well.
    Getting enough sleep.
    Meditating.
    Exercising hard.
    Seeing my counsellor.
    Reading for fun.
And am still rather a mess.
Cor, what would I be like if I wasn't doing all those things...?!?!?!
