After a good couple of days, it went pear shaped.

Meltdown. And with reason. Email sent about the situation that caused it.

Exhausting. And that's just me, let alone dc who is going through all this s**t.

They will be lucky to be fit for school tomorrow, though we're aiming for second lesson at the mo. Depends on how the night goes... But that'll be dh's decision as I'll be at work.

I did an extra half day at work today, conducting some y11 mock speaking tests. It was the class of the dept member that is leaving, but said dept member didn't know how to run the tests, so the simple thing was for me to do them myself, as I was going in to help anyway (and being paid for it, of course) and they won't be around to conduct any other ones, so no point wasting time training them, really. Now I need to mark them and comment on them, but that will wait for another day. I think I'll really feel the lack of a full day off by about... ooh, Weds eve! Esp as dc is struggling so much. It is heartbreaking. And exhausting. But me and dh are of the same opinion, so that is a relief.

dc stayed off school all day. Was going to go in for p2, but phoned me in tears, and just couldn't do it, so I talked to dh who kept them at home. At least when they called me it was during a small assembly so I was able to go out and take the call. And at least I had taken my phone with me! We'll see about tomorrow...

My other dept member has finally verbally talked to dep head re leaving and now just has to email the head to say. So it is now semi official... And dep head had a great suggestion for a replacement which, if it happens, will remove so much pressure form me for the rest of the year. Fingers and everything else crossed.

This evening, dc and I have worked with clay. They made a toadstool and I stuffed about 20 plastic coloured cotton reels with clay, to weight them down once I'm ready to put trees in them. Not got any trees ready yet, though...

Dc went to school today, and stayed until the end of lunch, as planned. Yay. They said that once home, they felt that they could have stayed for longer. But I said it's better to come home with some energy still in the tank than to push on.

I crawled through my day, only just managing. Seemed to have a masssssssive list to do, but did get a fair amount done too.

While dc was dancing this eve (it's only up the road, but by the time I get home, I have about 35 mins to eat tea and go to collect) I added embellishments to half a dozen trees. Tomorrow they can have some sparkly stuff attached with UHU. And the clay filled reels need painting and glitterising.

But first there's the sch run, gym, liddle?, covid booster, tip?

And before that, there's a child to get to sleep...

Who for -  you or dc? the anti-anxiety, good for sleeping herbal what-nots?  Would love to hear a review.

For me, f0xh0les. Yep, those ones. I used them about 25 years ago when you could get them in 3-times-a-day pill form, and I only took 1 per day with 2 on a very bad day. That was enough to help me. But since then, I noticed you can only get the one-a-day sort. That's all there is, so that's what I've got. I think that for me, it's knowing that I'm doing something for me, to help me cope, but as a middle ground between nowt + prescription a-d tablets.
