As I understand it they skipped Nu (because there would be too many jokes) and Xi (because it's an incredibly common Chinese surname), but apart from that yes there have been other minor variants that have sucked up other letters in the Greek alphabet.
I'd like to know what the next alphabet will be that they use once we finish the Greek one. I've tried learning the Hebrew alphabet in the past, maybe it'll stick if I hear bits of it in the news a lot. Or will they swap to something else, like Greek Gods perhaps? Everyone avoid the Hera variant!"You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

It is an anagram that describes the PM @apple_muncher MORONIC - I am sure it started off as Nu, but suddenly it became a Transformer, so the next variant will probably be called Optimus Prime or BumblebeeGood luck with dc - and be kind to yourselves.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Maybe they will work their way through all the names of The Muppets, and then The Fraggles.

Well. That was November. Flew by, apart from being in the middle of stuff, when it dawdled along, taking forever. This week is mocks week 1/3. So plenty of marking and report writing heading my way.Today is my day off. Took dc to sch, then headed towards orthodontist to pick up more tooth elastics. I parked 15 mins away, so enjoyed a walk. Then to my counsellor. Deep, as always. After that, I was heading to the gym and dc called, in tears. Having a meltdown in the loos. Didn't want collecting and said they would tell the teacher (HOY) in charge of the session ,( collapsed ttble day, other stuff being done). Told dc to call if needing collecting but carried on to the gym. Twas a good session. Interspersed with texts from t'other teacher ... And that was the morning. Lunch finished and Dep Head calls me! So much for a day off, eh?!Told dh that I just can't face cmas this year. The present choosing and buying, really. I think he was a bit shocked. But I've contacted 2 awesome friends and we're doing token stuff for big people, small presents for kiddies. Basically, they're gonna get a foodie hamper from items I can get in liddle/aldee, along with a jar of chutney I bought at the fair last sat.I've since ordered a couple of items for dc from etsee. We've sent off an enquiry email for an assessment for dc. That is one fat frog swallowed.Dc may call in 10 mins. Or may stay on to their club.Right. Self care needs prioritising. Not that it's not being done, but it can get either watered down or become a burden. Like I wanted to read through several books in my need-reading pile, doing a chapter a night, in Nov. Think I only managed about 13 chapters in a small book! So in Dec, it'll be quiet morning time before anyone else gets up, gym, reading when I feel like it, trying not to postpone simple jobs ( need to send cards before 22 Dec this year, to tell re dc's name change, for example!!!) And I'll try to cut back on sugar and keep on with the fresh veg meals. I've not done much headspace in Nov, so that's worth doing a couple of times a week.I like mothernerd's suggestion of eating more sparsely in the first half of the month, to then enjoy the richer fare that comes later.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

That's a good idea to scale Christmas right down, with everything else that you're coping with. Self care is crucial, I'm glad its moving right up the priority list again.2023: the year I get to buy a car1

Thanks, karma! We've already had an email from one of dh's kids about Cmas, and dh replied saying that we weren't sending them gifts this year as the postage costs (Oz and Canada) were so high. We'll do gift cards, vouchers, that sort of thing instead. The response was all positive. And I'm leaving that up to him to sort out...!And we'll prob buy something from them for dc.Re the self-care, I know that my moods are massively affected by how dc is doing. Plus the anticipation/dread/worry that they may need to come home/have a meltdown/just not cope.I told big sis that I am relieved that I can't go and visit mum because they have had a case or 2 of covid and have closed to visitors. She said that that was not a good thing to feel and that I needed to look after myself! So, I break up on Dec 16th and have 8 working days left. Let the countdown begin...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Thank you, yes. (So far...) Dr uses it. School uses it. Church uses it. Dance uses it. Orthodontist has it as preferred name. New activities use it. Neighbours use it. Family use it. Is that everyone...? Not been to the dentist or to coeliac consultant since the change, but reckon they'll be okay to use a preferred name.A legal change is on the cmas list. I'd do it, but am not sure about dh. But we can't get a passport until it's changed, as old one ran out last year... Not that we're planning to go anywhere, seeing what pesky Omicron has done overnight...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Just caught up. In awe ... hugsMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
So, re cmas. Now I've faced it, it has simplified. And is out of my head and written down.Dh's kids + offspring will get money/ vouchers. Up to him to sort out. Made a token gift pact with 2 good friends (food hampers of aldee/liddle stuff), and prob cash for the kids. People at work (colleagues, admin ...) will get aldee small bars of choc tied up in a ribbon - the number of bars will vary according to the person. One person who invariably brings me some gf goodies when she brings in biscuits for everyone thoroughly deserves a lot of things from liddle!!! 😆 secret Santa will be from liddle. Big sis + bil already have some bits. Niece will get cash. Mum. Well, there's a tricky one. She needs socks!!! The wide and loose cuffed ones. And I have already written and addressed and stamped four cards. Smug face is on. People need to know about dc's name and I therefore need to tell them myself! In other witterings, I sobbed for half the journey to work. Cathartic. The invigilation rota had been rewritten and I gained 2 free periods. The fat frog email we wrote yesterday has already been replied to and they will be able to do the initial triage-y bit in Jan. Rather faster then CAmhs...7 working days to go...and one of them is the last day of term so not exactly hard.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1
