I am testing every other day because I can smell things that nobody else can smell. The kids  test twice a week - they can smell nothing.

Farewell to the September rollercoaster. And hello to the October one!
I taught from home today and am so grateful to me work for enabling that. Cover was still needed so four colleagues were used, but I reckon it went ok. Dc is home tomorrow, but I don't work, so that should be ok. But next week...a minefield. I really think that I'll have to be home with them for them to cope with being in lessons. Even if all the work is set on the classroom, and dc plans to do it outside of the lesson time, they know that in reality they won't do it, because they freeze up and cannot physically start. If I am around (ie next to them or at most a few metres away) then they are more able to do it live. Sigh. There's just two weeks until half term then two weeks off, so I hope the year group can get back asap this side of the break. The next few days will show if anyone else has caught it...
I'm already planning how to wfh next week, if my place will allow it. If they say I have to go in (which I think is highly unlikely), then I'll request unpaid leave. They'd have to coverr my classes anyway, so might as well have me teaching, cos if I'm unpaid, I'd probably not set any work!!! Oooh, go me being all rebellious when they can't call my bluff...
    Numbers:
    6 days at work (maybe...)
25 days not at work (wow! That's massive!)
    2 counselling sessions
    4 dance classes
    1 show
NSDs, workouts, headspace, tidying, blah, blah, blah...

Dc will be back in the building next week. Such a relief.
Got a few things to request (demand???) from the school...
Tomorrow I want to get to the gym and use the battle ropes.
Discovered that my 55yo bil bought himself some brio for his bday. We still have a boxful of the stuff that they gave us when dc was a littl'un, so we'll be hermes-ing that back up to him as a surprise!

I have tackled the battle ropes. Hmmm. Not as easy as it looks 😆.
50 skip, 20 single arm rope slam, 50 skip, 3 each arm 12k kettlebell snatch and windmill, 50 skip, 10 two arm rope slam, 50 skip, 20 one arm 12k kb swing, 50 skip. Three times. 16 mins 25 secs.
    Oh, my poor shoulders!!!!!

Dc slept until 9.30 and has had a good bfast. They are now watching/ listening to stuff on their laptop, sitting on a fleecy blanket on the sofa, with another fleecy blanket over their legs and a heated microwaveable bagpuss on their lap!

Ha ha Karma! The ropes didn't feel like much at the time, but they certainly had an impact which I felt later on in the day!

I think conflicting commitments is the way life is going to be for a while. 2 weeks until half term. 6 working days for me.
I have told dc's school that they won't be doing any hwk/PREP for the foreseeable. The impact on their MH is massive and although it is not going to solve all their issues, it may help a little. We'll still look at the tasks so that I know what's being covered, and dc might be able to do some occasionally...
I await a response about that one...

    Let me try to summarize:
Request to change my child's name on the school records. Initially accepted and changed. Then rejected and changed back. After about 10 days, we're informed they want CAMHS and GP input. After about another 10 days, the change happens.
Request for a time out card so that my child does not need to ask permission to leave the room when overwhelmed (sometimes feeling increasingly anxious as they wait for a suitable time to ask the teacher), rejected. Again, CAmhs input required. !!!!!!???
Telling them re no hwk/PREP and why, rejected.
So I contacted my own Dep Head with all the emails and the suggestion is to go and see the Head directly.

I'm just gutted. Deflated. Have no fight left in me. Yet this is my child who cannot fight for themself, so I have to fight.
I've left it with dh reading the email I sent my own Dep Head and the reply.

Oh Apple :( that's so sad - no fight in you, but you have to fight on, for your child.

You sound very much alone with this - are there organisations, other parents who are in this situation? Banding together in a facebook group, perhaps?  If not, if you search for "identity of your choice" and "organisation", you may be surprised.

Hope OH can help you take stock after reading the email.  This is such a difficult road, I didn't realise the obstacles that exist :(
