  • Took the usual route to dance and you wouldn't have known it was an extra 10 mins on the journey this morning!
Dc had a crappy time there, so had a rant in the car. I have realized that I'm struggling for quite a while after they've ranted. Not their fault,p at all, and much better said than stewing inside. It's just how it is.
We got home, checked library times and were out asap (on the bus, I couldn't face more driving). A relaxing time was had there. Dc took out 10 books; I took out 12. We now have three weeks in which to read them... Or admit defeat and renew some of them...
Finally got a load of laundry in the machine. I want to get another one done too.
Dh is cooking steak for tea. I'm not up to doing anything and would have had scrambled egg, so I'm super grateful.
I'm on kids klub tomorrow,so a fairly early start. I'm really hoping only a few kids turn up....

I've noticed recently that when I'm with people who're ranting, I feel much better if I don't engage with it in the way of a normal conversation - its *not* conversation, its ranting, no matter how dearly loved the one is who's doing it, so I just let it be.  Much better.

Sorry you suffered too with the petrol busy-ness - thats great to have a good evening meal cooked for you!  Enjoy :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • It was a rough weekend. Won't go into details but it floored me. I went to work as normal and then fell apart. Got a gp appt for 10am so left at 9.30. Then home. I've watched a lot of Garden Rescue and been reading or playing solitaire and word games. It has helped to have time off. I'm not back until Weds anyway, so have tomorrow too. GP asked if I needed more time/space (ie to be signed off) and I said no as I genuinely don't think I do need that. But it's there for if I do.

Good to hear GP is understanding.  Hope time out helps you through the tricky patch xx

  • Having tomorrow off will hopefully help too. Don't worry about pushing yourself too hard, just see how the day plays out and whether you need some TV time, a little bit of walking time, some fiddling with crafts time etc.

  • I'll admit that I'm more anxious today about going to work tomorrow. But I will go in, and I'll see how I go. bearing in mind that I'll be on the bike, I don't think I'll have the energy to return much before the end of the sch day...! The dep head has said that I can be covered whenever I need it, which is such a great level of support to have.
So, I'll bike in (tomorrow should be dry - phew) and just keep my head down and potter on.

DH's first face to face on campus meetings are tomorrow, and his stress levels are off the scale. So massive hugs, and just take it slowly.

  • Today was a cycling day. Oooph. Still stoopid queues at the few open petrol stations as I pedalled smugly (and puffing heavily cos I was in a rush to get back to Dc) past them.
Dc's year group has moved to online learning from tomorrow. In order for dc to feel safe, I shall not be going into work tomorrow. Well, I'll go in very early to sort out the work, then aim to teach online. But the classes will still need a teacher in the room, as all our pupils are still in school.
