So, on to the good points:

- it has windowsills

- it has a comfy sofa

- the knives are sharp

- it has plenty of cleaning products (so we can clean everything before using it...! Grill pan, microwave, all crockery, cutlery and pots and pans)

- there are ice cubes in the freezer

- you can occasionally see a bunny rabbit

- there is enough lol roll

Karma -the sensors + hiding the heating controls were the last place we stayed, but both have given the wrong tinterweb password in the printed info. Sigh.

Jenny - we leave on Fri. Shall I book you in...???!!!

We should have a visitor in about 15 mins, to fix the shower that apparently doesn't drain properly. Just as well we're lucky pups and don't wash much otherwise we could've flooded the place last night!!! We weren't told about it until this morning... Sigh...

Dh and I went out for a walk this arvo. Only 3 miles. But it had hills, sludge and slurry (oooh, luvverly), an old train station ( purporting to run a steam train, but looking suspiciously like a diesel to dh. And he knows these thing 😆), a canal and barge and people working the lock. And the obligatory waist-high nettles and unclear path and let's-try-to-find-the-gap-in-the-electic-fence parts. Bliss!

The only thing I know about Carrot is that there is a S3vern Trent sewage treatment works  (primary, secondary and tertiary  pumping tanks) and they spread the resultant sludge on the fields in that area.    I was a data clerk for the engineer test sheets of every pump and moving part of every bit of the Midlands  ST Sewage region (a million and a half years ago last Tuesday)  - I could still probably do it as my chosen subject on M4stermind in my sleep - no idea what any of it does, but I was quicker than anyone else at it, and it paid the rent and for a lot of nights out.  That is full disclosure of  the extent of my knowledge of Carrot.

I know nothing about Carrot - but we have a SV treatment place not far from here and the byproducts get spread on the fields over the other side of the canal..... makes for several 'fragrant' days all around the area in the Summer!!

When I was in LeShire, the prevailing westerly winds wafted the biscuit factory smells over 😁; the occasional easterly brought sausage factory whiffs; the more rare southerly brought manure stinks (if it was muckspreading time). Memories!!

We have steam trained today. Whoop! Whoop! Dc made good use of their Nikon camera and went up in the fire plate bit twice. I joined in the second time 😎. Only when it was at the start/end station, mind. We didn't clamber along the outside of the carriages, escaping from some dastardly villain...
