Day 2 done and dusted. Still liking it!

The cycling went really well, though I do suspect tomorrow I will be rather stiff...

Dc had a good day too. They had a meeting with their HOY and the Dep Head for pastoral, which must've been blimmin' scary, and acquitted themselves super well. Now, they understand why the school have done/not done certain things (yet) and haven't ranted about it, so it must be pretty okay.

I'm going in to work again tomorrow even though I don't work on a Friday. To get the new teacher up to speed and to get admin stuff done. And there's certainly plenty of that to do!

Not going to work.

Was glutenised. Was throwing up until 1am. Then was dozing on bathroom floor until 3, as I didn't want to move away. Ugh.

Dh is super cross with the person who assured us the food was gf, and to be fair, they know their stuff and are trustworthy. But it wasn't a case of cross-contamination. It was full on 'normal' food.  Sigh.

Dc is upset because they couldn't do anything for me. And it must've sounded horrible.

So I'm 'working from home' and will be emailing the new teacher instead.

And dozing on the sofa.

And not eating!!!

ouch poor you.    I'm sure it was a genuine mistake but ghastly consequences for you.     Feel better soon .

Ooof!  Sounds rough. Have a few days to recover.

I prefer 'poisoned' to glutened. It amounts to the same thing for your personal digestive system apple.

Apple, you poor thing - sleeping on the bathroom floor sounds utterly horrible.  Please don't do very much of what amounts to voluntary work when you're as ill as this.  Take care of you.

Thank you everyone. It is out of my system but I'm a feeble weevil today. I'm all wrapped up (it might as well be winter!) with the telly on and a blanket. I sent the emails I needed to do and am about to go horizontal with the paralympics for a bit

I slept very soundly last night. Phew.

Still weary but not nearly so feeble.

Laundry done, item taken to the PO, back lawn mown, some Candide sheets printed.

Just out to take dd to their dance exams. No stress, panic or anxiety here...if only!

Sorry to hear you ingested gluten Did DH let the person concerned know? Glad you're feeling better now - and hope DC's exams went well x

Dh probably won't let the person know, as he says that he may have misheard, or even picked up the wrong things. It was a wedding where he'd done the PA and this was the food left at the end. So we'll never really know exactly what happened. But one thing's for sure-dh is the one eating whatever he brought back from there!!!! Even seeing the containers make my gut squirm 😆

I think dc's dance exams went well. They didn't come out with horror stories or tears, which is a good thing.

I collected together all the stumpy bits of 4x4 wood from the pallets and reckon I have enough for the corners of the strawberry planter I want to build for dh. In my mind, it'll be square on the bottom (2 slats high) with an oblong on top that is the same length, but only as wide as to the inner part of the corners (to leave gaps to plant the strawbs) (also 2 slats high?). And finally another square to sit on top and have gaps on the other sides from the middle section. In my head, it is gloriously and perfectly made!!!! If slightly like a squiffy pyramid... Just need to measure and get dh to cut the slats and generally help me build it... Hopefully it won't be too Heath Robinson...
