A successful morning out has been had 😊.Got 3x jeans/trousers (1 doesn't look good on, so will depart asap), 2x tops, 1x hoodie for dh that I really like... And about 15 books. Result.Dropped into sch and had a chat with various people. And purloined a pallet, only to get it home and for dh to point out that it's too small... Oops.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Too small for your original thought, but can you still make something else out of it?I think you need a firepit in your life apple. Then all those little left over pieces of wood could be put to good use melting marshmallows for g/f d/f s'mores for DC.I had a friend who ended up with a son called DC, because he never took off his duffel coat and his grandpa kept calling him DC and his younger siblings joined in. Never did find out what his real name was, because absolutely everyone called him DC.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I'm already planning another planter, f0xh0les!!! First of all, I need to get dh to go and snaffle a couple of pallet lengths from his wk (they have a mahoosive pile of pallets but he is not allowed even one as 'they are for a project'. Sigh. Said by the same person who left the donated scaffold boards in the same very obvious place and who was then surprised that they got nicked!!!). So, finish the 2nd planter first. Then borrow the pallet-dismantling kit from a neighbour to get going on this new smaller pallet... We do have a piece of timber to cut down for the corner supports. But then I'll be super short of upright bits for the corners for another planter (yep, may even have enough wood for that, cos I've just spotted some I cut up yesterday but didn't use!!!)... Hmmm... And screws...I have been in among the blackcurrant bush triffids + rasp canes, and cut out all the actual dead wood plus a lot of other wood. Yep, I need that firepit... (just a posh name for a metal bin to burn wood in, really!) Oooh, that could go on my Cmas list...Filling them is a whole new conundrum...Love that story of your friend's son! Dc has decided that they will put the new name in front of the existing names and just say that they are now using their first name instead of one of their middle names. I can imagine them doing frequent name changes and ending up with 20 or 30 middle names!!!Am enjoying Garden Rescue so much that I have set it up to record. That and Barnwood Builders mean there's always summat wholesome to watch!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Lots of good stuff going on. And I *love* Barnwood Builders - trouble is, I've seen them all at least twice, sob ... really brilliant, though.2023: the year I get to buy a car2

We have a bin so dh has said he'll dig out the bottom stuff. Thing is, he says these things but needs heavy reminding to actually do them!!! May be able to half fill one planter and top up with bought compost... Think liddle are still selling it...

I have just finished watching Iceland's strongest man on utube. Two 'clips' totalling about 8 hours. Very grateful for utube's facility to tap forward in increments of 10 secs, or move the red dot along!!.Anyhow, not only did the Icelandic commentators commentate in amazingly educated English, but the contestants also did interviews in amazing English, not even stumbling over colloquial phrases. Impressive stuff all round.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

A good day has been had.I started with a 30 min 'run'.A shopping trip to sainz for some bits.one load of laundry.Dh took the named lost property to the sch and emailed the office so they could email the parents so they know.A trip to take 2 bags to the Sally Army and a few bits from liddle. No big compost so off to another liddle where they had big bags, so I got 6!And a trip to the tip to put rags in the rag bins.Dh helped me unload the compost and we finished off the second planter cos he snuck home 2 planks from a pallet at work.I've also done some y10 prep and found more strongman on utube 😎I snuck in a veg box from liddle too, and the melon and grapes alone were worth it! (Melon, plums, nectarines, grapes, satsumas, cauli, carrots, potatoes, cucumber, pepper)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

i might have put a smidgen too much laundry liquid in the machine...It was totally full of bubbles... So I turned it off and now am running it on the usual 28 min wash. That'll teach me to try and be clever, washing the downstairs nets and the shower curtain together...on 60.Dc had the next stage in their braces yesterday - having elastic bands to wear as well as a general tightening. So a new skill to learn - the laccy bands have to come off every time they eat and then put a fresh pair back on after. Except dc had no training as to how to put them on again, so we had tears yesterday. And the pain/aching had returned - the last 2 visits hadn't brought about any pain, so we were unprepared for this!!!I had a shower at the gym yesterday! Pre-covid, they were inevitably cold, even when I went along all the showers and pressed all the buttons several times. But it was a lovely lukewarm temperature, which I'll take as a good result
I then went in to work to see a friend who I knew would be in, so we had a great natter for a couple of hours. That'll save us a bunch of time when we go back in Sept.
Dh emptied out the bottom half (almost) of our compost bin, which filled both planters to about half way, which is much more than I'd expected. I've now filled them with bought compost and planted one of them with stuff I'd removed from ground level (margaritas?) and a couple of pots (nasturtium) and a yellow flowering plant that serves me well every year and seems to be almost indestructible.A neighbour came round and took some surplus rasp canes and I have someone to post some to in a week or so.
