Dh has found the remote control for the heating. Yay! So pleased! It's pretty damp in the place (not been used during covid times so only recently occupied) and the hand towels in the bathroom were not even drying... It was found on top of a very high bookcase in a corner. Dh found it when he was looking for a way to cover the sensor that switches the hall light on... Yep, it was oh-so-obvious! But wears now warmer and dryer. Result.

Bathroom light is also on a sensor, which is ok, but not what you want when you nip to the loo in the night...

Hmmm, what a moaning Myrtle I am!!!

The light in the bathroom at the youth hostel only came on when the door closed behind you. There was that half a second of ... is it going to come on or not? and poor dh was obviously in the bath too long, as the light turned out, there was no motion sensor, and he had to get out the bath, open the door and close it again in the dark, giggling like an idiot.

Glad you are warm and dry now, but the heating on the 1st August is still a worrying prospect.  

No point not being comfortable on holiday though -  who on earth hides the heating controls???

We have been for a little walk, and did about 4miles. All flat round here. A combo of paper map + online mapping saw us round, via plenty of orchards. Is it still an orchard if it is growing pears?

In that case, we went though a grape orchard too...!!!!!

A couple of walks today. One round some locks/canal/river (only 1.5miles) after dropping off dc. Then dh surprised me by suggesting another walk at 3pm. So off we trotted. And this time, his online maps saved the day! And we completed just under 4 miles. Yay. And no rain either - phew.

We went through a plumyard today, f0xh0les!!!!

Another good 4+ mile walk, and a simple one that, having done it once, we could do it again without a map.

Popped into the local coffee shop on the way back, to buy some cakes. Their sign offered gf + vegan, so I wanted to see if they had gf and vegan, for dc. And they did. Result. And were impressively knowledgeable about allergies. I plan to return there tomorrow, when dc has their online cbt session and will want us out of this place!

Currently watching the climbing on the red button. I love the non-mainstream stuff we get to see this year.

The park skateboarding will be on at silly o'clock in the morning, so tomorrow will see iPlayer back in use 😎.
