Only managed one washing load today. Dh had to install it first of all. Then run a cleaning (?) wash, which took about 160 mins. And then, finally, I could wash some clothes. It certainly doesn't do quick washes like our previous one... The shortest cycle is 28 mins ( cf 15 on the last machine), and most cycles are 160 mins, up to over 200... Ridiculous!!! The most common one we used previously tool 63 mins. When we need another machine, in about 9 years' time, I'll be more involved in choosing one...!The beautiful phlox display in the front garden was somewhat battered and splatted by the pelting rain and is now past its best, so I hope the neighbours all managed to see them in all their glory beforehand...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

I am a fan of my 29 minute cycle - it cleans worn clothes just fine! Not really used my 15 minute cycle as - in my head- I am not sure it would be 'enough', although really, I should try it....... even if just for the daily towels. There, you have convinced me. The bed sheets and duvet covers all go in the 59 minute cycle, but nothing more than that in our house. Even the mattress toppers go on in the 59 minute cycle and they come out beautifully clean and smelling fresh. Totally agree about the madness of long long wash times.

Dh is out all day, so it's me and dc and iPlayer for the skateboarding. Two loads of laundry done on the 28min cycle. And hung up inside as I'm not sure about the weather. I think the 28 min cycle will be my go-to one.Planning a tip trip: polystyrene from the washing machine; a couple of old leccy bits (broken toaster, leccy toothbrush garnered from dad's house several years ago and not used cos none of us like it); garden waste - finally emptying some old pots of stuff I let grow each year but which produce nowt and I keep giving them 'one more year'.... Well, no longer!! And there's too much to fit more in my compost bin. Also planning to take dd to the local skatepark and I may do some skipping whilst she's there. Then maybe pop to a bike shop and see if there's one I like enough to buy...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

What a satisfying day 😀.I really notice the space created by the tip trip, esp as regards the garden. We had fun at the skatepark, I did 1100 skips while dc skated. The bike shop was interesting, it was great to talk through what I want with an expert. Nowt there for me, though. We've watched the women's street skateboarding. Average age of the medallist is ... 14!!!!! The park one is later this week. And the triathlon too. The men's was in super hot and humid conditions; the women are all falling off their bikes in the slippy rainy conditions as I watch (I'm on iPlayer!)I set to the bureau this afternoon and it is sooooo much better. Instead of one drawer overflowing with old jiffy bags, envelopes, bubble wrap bits, it is super streamlined and only 1/3 full 😎. And the other drawer now only has writing paper, cards ( all half inserted in their appropriate envelope, of course), spare envelopes, postcards. 😎 What can recyc is in the recyc boxes; what can go to the ch shop is in the ch shop bag; what is rubbish is out in a bin bag. Bliss!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

There are quite a lot of recycled (ha ha) bike projects that will do a 'dutch bike' for around the £65-£80 price range. Plus the normal TBay / Glumtree / freecyicle pages. Often it is saying loudly that you are in the market for a bike, but do not know if it will suit you so you don't want to spend much, and suddenly, someone knows someone who has one in their shed that would give/lend/sell it to you..... I think there must be sheds and sheds and sheds full of bikes up and down the country that need to be liberated (but not stolen) and used.

I'm glad I haven't missed the park skateboarders, I was looking forward to those
foxholes has a point about 2nd hand bikes! I had a 25 year old bike that I didn't trust to be safe, and I lent it against my wheelie bins with a paper sign sellotaped to it saying "free renovation project, please take". It went in 15 minutes2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Spent much time this morning looking for the park boarders on iPlayer. To no avail. Started to think it had been ignored... Finally realized that they are next Weds! Phew! We're away so I've set up to record the red button from midnight to 6am, in the hope that between that and iPlayer, we'll manage to capture it...Dc had their first cbt session today and it went swimmingly. Dh was out anyway, and I went up to the local shops (specifically, aldee) so dc had no one around while they talked. I got back a few mins early, so did a smidge of weeding in the front- they come up nice and easily when the rain has softened the soil!
The new wash machine's spin is 1200, the old one was 1400. Really notice the difference in how long it takes for stuff to dry properly. So tomorrow I need to wash anything we may want to take away on Sat, to ensure it can dry.Set to the sideboard today, with dc, as all the contents belong to them! A huge amount of gubbins went to recyc and the remainder was streamlined more and consequently takes up much less space, creating room for some of their craft kits. A big win 😎.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3 -
Sounds like a productive day to me.I think you need to call dibs on choosing the next machine - unless you can find a fault with it and return it?It would be driving me demented already, after the monster one I chose this time, I realise how much time is saved with the right machine for the job. All the quilted mattress protectors have been washed and dried in the last 2 days, no trips to the laundrette needed anymore.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
