@apple_muncher late to the party but wanted to congratulate you and DC on what must have been quite a journey! Agree with others that it speaks volumes to your parenting skills that it's all out in the open.  My dd went to a girls' school years 7-11 (now mercifully in state 6th form that's for all genders) but when another student found themselves in this position, the school was very supportive and the student continued till GCSEs had been sat.  Hope your DC's school is the same.  Keep going as you are fantastic love to all Humdinger x

Another roasty toasty day that ended with cracking thunder and rain and HAIL!!! Glad I held off watering the garden.

The washing machine is being really cranky on the final spin. Keep thinking it's going to explode... Yikes.

Up at the crackity crack of dawn tomorrow to take dd to their friend's house for 6.30, for said friend's dad to take them skateboarding. He's skateboarding mad, so it's no big deal for him to take them and then get back home to do his work!

I've just been reading about all the hail - we had distant thunder yesterday, but nothing at all today - in a way, I wish we had, if it gave us some relief.  I don't envy you needing to be alert enough to take dc to a friend's house at that time of the morning, good grief!  Best of luck!

In fact, it was only 15 mins earlier than a school Monday, so not too bad.

Dc is also up. Now need to get some food in them before all that activity...

Skateboarding was awesome apparently. 🏂(this is the nearest emoji I can find)

We've had clothes arrive this afternoon. School stuff for dc and G30rge stuff for dc and me. I now have a bikini that fits and can be worn in public (think of at the pool, not walking down the street...). And some purplish/ purpleish exercise legs. And a s/s grey cropped hoodie. With a kangaroo pocket. And a reflective jacket. Dc acquired a pack of 9!!! tee shirts plus another single one. We're both v happy!

It's weds. I'm watching women's football at the Olympics.

Go on the main BBC website for the Olympics and it's not even mentioned. First sport is the men's football. Sigh.

Bit random but am a fan of Aubergines 2 dishes I like are Aub Parmigiana - I add mushrooms or other random veg as well.  I also sometimes make Caponata which is really good cold and always tastes better after it has matured for at least 24 hours.  There are lots of recipes for that on t'internet.  All this of course is of no use to you apple as you don't like them.

Loving it I just dry fry aubergine slices if I have them, possibly a little oil if I'm feeling utterly luxurious.  They're definitely in Chilean cooking

Are you expecting an invitation to dc's friend's poolside?  Bet you will rock that bikini.

My boys came out shopping with me yesterday and were scandalised at the amout of men walking around topless.  So funny to hear an 11 year old saying 'nobody wants to look at that!' as we drove past two very fit, very tanned, young men with abs you could grate cheese on.
