Hello I_Love_Comps! Well done on wading through all my witterings!

Anyhoo, tis Friday and I'm not at work. I have a child to take to school, a visit to liddle to make, a possible gym to visit, a friend to meet for a walk, a pallet to dismember (though rain is forecast, so it may be postponed), and some relaxing to do.I drove the child to school, as a treat, then went to liddle, fully expecting no bargains. I was wrong! Plenty of items in the reduced section so I was not greedy! 2 things @ 70p, 4 things @20p and 1 thing @ 30% off.And I made it to the gym and had fun.And made it home in time to shower before rushing out for the bus+tram to meet my friend (dh needed the car). We had a good long walk and a good long natter. She encouraged me to write an email putting feelers out for a job, which I wouldn't have done without her prodding and suggesting it.Lunch has been munched, now I'm onto the relaxing partNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Aaah - work sounds positively not fun right now
The end of term is in sight... x
Hope that relaxing time today was exactly that xxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £203 -
Thank you greent, it was relaxing! I set a timer for 20 mins and kept repeating it. I did some bits and bobs that are good to have got out of the way (mark y10 books; unravel some knitting pieces from years ago - worth keeping the wool as it is 100% cotton yarn; raspberry picking; going through about a dozen magazines I have somehow acquired to see if any are worth keeping - only 1; collecting a few bits for the ch shop bag; sorting through a few items of post - karma will totally get the level of difficulty involved with this; moving a couple of books into the book-going-pile) all with the tennis going on in the backgroundNo one else would notice what I have done, but it gives me a happy fuzzy feeling when I think about it.In other biggish news, it seems that the neighbour's landlord has finally got their roof flashing mended where the offset joins our roof (or doesn't join!!!). This should mean that we no longer have rain coming down our inside wall
via my wardrobe. We got a builder friend over to have a look at the job that was done, cos dh thought it had been done rather slapdash. But builder friend said it was a decent job. Yay. We also needed builder friend over while the scaffolding was still up (it's only been up since Feb...)
I have just 2 weeks of term left and I refuse to let the miserable ones spoil it. Ha! I shall be positive and cheerful and avoid all and any misery-guts. We have had some staff strike for 2 days each week for the last 2 weeks, and they are doing it again this coming week. It is blimmin pointless and has basically spoiled the last few weeks. And it will achieve exactly nowt. But they are not in the building dealing with the fallout of their actions. All they do is moan and whinge, point the finger and be divisive. Whereas I shall be in my happy place traa-laa-laa-ing away to myselfNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3 -
Lots achieved - yay! And brilliant news that your wardrobe will now be rainproof!
Enjoy your weekendx

Doing the post, a rainproof wardrobe - you're in clover, lass
seriously, looking at your options and staying away from the horrible drama as much as you can sounds a really good way forward while you're still there.
2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
So, builder friend popped round again with tools for dh to make sure the flashing is properly flush, and to show him how to remove the moss from our roof. So dh was a busy boy!I took a HP plastic broomstick + a lampshade from a neighbour up to the ch shop, and came away with 3 pairs of leg-apparel. I confess that I never thought I'd still be too large to fit in most of my trousers at this point of 2021. But I am. I have 1 pair of old walking trousers, 1 pair of warm work trousers ( no use in this heat) , 1 pair of m+s trousers but they're old and only just wearable for work and 1 pair of cut-down jeggings (or nettings, as autocorrect says...) that I cut down last year to wear at home but have now had to use in public as I have nowt else! But they are wearing very thin and threatening to become indecent...I acquired 1 pair of 3/4 length tracky-trouser style legs that have been cut to knee-length shorts. Result. And 1 pair of men's jeans that were bought to cut down, but actually hang well as jeans, so they present a dilemma... They are a larger size than I previously needed, but somehow, buying a larger size in mens doesn't feel so awful as buying a larger size in women's.... The third pair were jeggings - again, to cut down - but had no size on them. I got them cos they were only £2, and seemed to measure up the same size against the men's ones. Nope. They fit me like a glove. A tight glove 😆. A very tight glove indeed...A neighbour dropped round a crowbar and a claw hammer, so I have started on dismantling the pallet. I didn't do too much, so as not to wreck my hands. But it was super satisfying. More fun to be had there tomorrow.I almost feel like I'm on holiday already, some days! I'm only doing two days this coming week, as dd has a consultant appointment and it is in person, so very exciting. I requested - and got- leave of absence to take her, but it turns out that it's sports day, so I miss no teaching and need to set no work. Result.A bit more sorting has been done. And I mean 'a bit'. Like 8 magazines, 4 of which are worth keeping, and 4 went in the ch shop bag with the ones from yesterday. I do still have about 8 more to do, and then the magazines should be finished with.We have ordered dd a new skateboard, which is super exciting. She came home from the skateboarding club absolutely buzzing and kept talking about it all evening! We are so proud of her re school and just life in general, and she rarely asks for things. So we wanted to treat her.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

I may be wrong, but is Matt Hancock one of very few political figures to have broken the rules and then resigned? Rather than try to bluff his way out of it, or say 'oops, sorry, my bad' with no consequences?
