What a brilliant Saturday!
Did the food shop on my own, using vouchers, and getting a couple of Cmas bits + sch shoes for dd.
Stuffed 8 arms and legs.
Did a few rounds of thr green trying to get dd to ride without stabilisers.
Walked to chemist where they had STRAWBERRY ca1po1 - phew!
Got bike out and washed it down. Took dd along the road in her seat - pretty funny, as although she fits in it and her feet are ok, her knees go either side of the saddle so I am effectively sitting on her knees to ride it! (that's something to sell now - must research 'the going rate.')
Got washing done and mostly dried.
Finished a bunny - legs + arms. Just needs eyes + nose tho'.
Found lots of tester pots of paint (from many, many moons ago!) in the garage so they are now in dd's painting box.
Made dinner. Not a good one - shame it made umpteen portions!!!
Checked emails and was graded a 'B" for my exam board work, so the p45 they sent me wasn't a sacking!!
Moved furniture and playhouse so it is slightly better, and slightly hidden. At least the floor got swept!
Moved a boxy thingy into dd's room as under-bed storage.
Located paniers for my bike. Discovered we have a silly amount of cycling gloves and little flashing lights!
Pumped up flat tyres. Well, dh did this for me. But I did pump up dd's flat tyre....
Remained sugar-free :T
Fed dd and dh.
Got bag ready for Sally Army, but will prob take on Tues after work.
So... The cycling to work brainwave... I reckon a Thursday is a good day as I have a lighter teaching load that day, and there are no pre- or post- school meetings that day. And I don't work on a Fri, so can recover!
Tomorrow?
- may do kids klub, but dd is under the weather, so not sure.
- make savoury biscuits to take to work.
- more bunny work
- make my food for work
- pack my bag for work
- make sure I have clean clothes for work!
- make dd's food for Mon + choose her clothes + stuff to take next door
- wrap present for next door's little one who is 1 on Mon
- research child carrier pricesNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I've made a start on September's exercise schedule- hee hee!
12 mins of 10/50: pike press + pike jump + jump up; sandbag fore and back lunge Left; Right. Sweaty!
And I hope to finish the month with a final NSD... Dd is full of cold, so is not allowed out to spread her germs.
Haven't done much off the list, unlike yesterday. Bunny work - some done. Really could do with getting a little ready for tomorrow!
I have trawled through my drawers and wardrobe and found 9 things to go.
OK, time to get a wiggle on and sort out food for manana. Baking savoury biscuits comes first.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
:j It's September!:j
Found out at 10pm that today's childcare arrangements had fallen through, so dd will have to come to school with me. First day back, new Head, and I traipse in with a 6yo - she'll remember me!
Just as well I'm not cycling in, eh?!
Dd was asleep by 8.45 last night, which is unheard of. The poor mite has a stinker of a cold, and dropped off whilst holding my hand. If that helps her fall asleep, the hand-holding is what we shall do! Possibly making a rod for our own backs, but 10pm is far too late for a littl'un to drop off, so I am willing to try this.
Yesterday's exercise is making itself felt, which is good. And not a burpee, nor a divebomber in sight! Today I am due to do 12 mins of: 10 burpee + 5 pistol on each leg. Just keep going till thefinal beep sounds, then collapse in a gibbering huddle. I was going to do it in the lunch break, but that will now be spent with dd.
Feel surprisingly calm about today - I guess that having 2 training days and then weds off isn't a bad way to start.
I've joined the NST September Squirrels challenge, led by mothernerd, and have laid out some groundrules for myself for the month ahead, as well as the challenges within the challenge. I feel very positive about it - let's see how that goes in 2 days time.
Time to start being noisy and more proactive for the day ahead. And stop browsing on here!
Oooh - started reading Mr Money Mustache's blog yesterday. Started from the beginning and am still on the first month, where he talks about getting a bike. Go me! Synchronised with MMM!:rotfl:NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Am mighty glad I didn't cycle today. Apart from the issue of transporting dd - too big for a rucksack or panier, too little to run alongside me - it rained. A lot.
New Head was absolutely fine with dd being there, and she was a total sweetie, getting sooooo many compliments. (Dd, not the new Head!)
As a reminder to myself, here's what I wrote over on September Squirrels:
'Looking forward to a new signature tomorrow!
I'll be dealing ONLY in hard cash for food shopping.
I'll be buying myself NOWT from the charity shops.
I'll be exercising HARD and FREQUENTLY.
I'll be doing regular TILLY TIDIES.
I'll use the car LESS and the bike MORE.
I'll get 10 VEGGIES most days.
I'll BAKE once a week and thus make a start on using up a backlog of baking ingredients.
I'll CULL my wardrobe.
I'll SAVE the extra pennies - not so good at making, but am better at not spending them.
I'll get out there and dance, appreciating what I've got, enjoying quiet reflective times.'
- I have culled the clothes, and although i'm not at the Hbbb level of 44 items, I have 9 to give away.
- To save pennies, I'm paying money over to the mortgage whenever I 'spend' on my giving and veggie boxes, or get credit or vouchers. If this gets to £400 then I'll start to move the money to savings instead. If this also gets to £400 then I shall be doing a happy dance!
- I have reached 9 veggies so far today.
- I started the day with my usual quiet time.
- Today is NSD 1/15.
Having broken my run of 10 days of sugar-freeness, I shall now stop eating fruit and nut chocolate and do a workout - burpee and pistol - yay! :jNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Not completely. I'd been trying to eat more veggies anyway, so now my goal is 10 veg. Fruit-wise, I'll often have an apple with peanut butter or almonds. And, this time of year, I'm on foraged blackberries and rasps from the garden. And the 2 strawbs my plants deigned to produce this year!
However, if I do have grapes, then I really feel the sugar rush! Same with sultanas.
However, my sugar-freedomness is no ADDED sugar freedomness. None of the white stuff!
I have just done my allocated workout - 12 mins of 10 burpee + 10 pistol. I managed 5 rounds and 3 burpees. Ooph!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Usual payments to mortgage and savings done - £400 each.
£188 = giving, also paid to mortgage
£13.70 = veggie box, also paid to mortgage
£201.70 to mortgage so far in Sept! :TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Must admit that after checking labels of eg cook-in sauces, I don't look for the'-oses'. I know that aldee mayo has sugar added, so sometimes make my own.
We often cook from scratch and mmake our own mixtures.
Hmmm, maybe I am still ingesting added sjgars. Will have a look at jars tomorrow. Thanks fot the idea!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Ugh! Not sleeping very well; having many a weird dream and waking dh as I talk too!
Dd got off to sleep 'early' again last night - yay! She's been coughing since 5.30, but is still asleep.ish.
Yesterday's sugar overload left me feeling almost sick - something which hasn't happened in aaaaaages. So I'm back on the sugar-free wagon. Will aim to do it until the 15th, but will also take it one day at a time.
Training day 2 ahead. Yesterday was very hard work, having to look after dd as well as be in meetings all day. She was very very good, but it's hard for a 6yo! Especially a not-very-well one. And her mummy.
Today should be a day to sort out some nitty gritty stuff for the new Frenchie teacher; get the paperwork done - all 5 items would be brill; and maybe, just maybe, plan a few lessons!
After yesterday's sugar and then the workout, I crashed! More the former's fault, methinks. But today is an exercise-free zone, apart from steps.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
