:xmastree: Christmas is coming! Not sure just how many sleeps, but am pretty sure it's over 100 still.

And if Christmas is coming, then so is winter...

Oooh. Lots to plan ahead for! Love getting the right present for the right person. And of course, dd has the biggest pile of all.

    Oodles of excitement ahead!

The bunny I bought dd from the craft centre on holiday has already needed to have its arms and 1 leg stitched on again! And I paid £9.95 for it! Shoddy stitchmanship indeedy.

On the more positive side, I drew round all four limbs, body and head, arms, and ears, then cut them out and have been pottering on with making my own one today. Just got to sew up the tops of the arms and attach them. Dd is happy with it!

But it has given me a :xmassmile thought: I could make more bunnies for dd's friends for presents! They could be for a boy or a girl. Each one slightly different - in colour or style or mix of patterns. Off the top of my head, there'll be at least 10 to make. Gulp!

Or I could sell them at the fair...?! :D

One of tomorrow's jobs is to make yet another list of what I already have + what I need to finish/make + what I'd like to make!! (knitted heart strings; hanging hearts; mittens; misc knits; bags...)

Today I have completed a hanging heart and knitted a heart and stitched it to its other half. So things are still getting finished.

I promised dh that I would tidy up all my crafting stuff before returning to school. 1 week left to do that!

Money matters? Pah! Not much! Garnered another NSD. Got refunded for an order that went through twice - much credit goes to playcom who sorted it all for me while I was away. And I may get to keep the item if the seller doesn't request it back in the next 30 days. I was wanting to return it anyway, so if I get to keep it, that will be bil's Cmas pressent done for free!

    Enough wittering!

Well, with the pelting rain, we're not going to get far today. We have already made it to C0sta as they do a hot choc with marshmallows and cream that dd likes. But we did all only have drinks, and because it's a Bank Hol, parking was free :j.

Amazingly, a charity shop was open and we got more bargains. A fairly large Hell0 K1tty for £2 for Cmas for dd, and some slippers for her for £1.75 - she says they are Baby Annab3l (?). For Cmas too. Dh found a couple of CDS - made me laugh as I think he is re-filling the few gaps on the cd shelves from sending some to MM!

And, of course, I got some fabric - kiddie clothes - potential bunnies (slapped wrist time as I REALLY do not NEED any more fabric) and bargainous grey sparkly wool - ideal for mitten cuffs.... Also found a barb1e style doll for which they only wanted 20p! :T

The final buy was a Hell0 K1tty passport cover which I'll give the little girl over the road for Cmas - along with a bunny of course!

And I AM WEARING JEANS for the first time in weeks. Ugh!

You are very lucky to have some decent charity shops.... I do occasionally go for a rummage round our local charity shops, but they are very un-inspiring:(

But I"m ever hopeful that I'll find something good one day

Hi GoldieGirl! Yes, I am super lucky with ch shops. We have 2 up the road, where I do my aldee shop. Then 7 (!) about 3.5 miles away and a further 4 another mile further on. I drive through the last bunch on my way home from work, or can easily detour to the 7. BUT there is also the temptation to spend frequently! And it all adds up

In September, because of my financial goals and because my income will drop by £400pcm, I am challenging myself to buy NOTHING for myself from ch shops. No wool. No fabric. No books. No clothes. Tho' I'm allowing myself still to go in, in case I spot things for other people - so I still get to mooch!

Off to gma's house today :j. Not leaving till late morning, so loads of time to get ready...! I've instucted mum not to buy in any food for us, as we'll bring our own. Am even taking our toaster, as mum only has a grill and dd lives off toast at the moment.

I got dh to wake me when he left for work - 6.20am. Just so I didn't oversleep - we all woke at 9am yesterday, which is unheard of here! I've already sewn up bunny ears, arms and legs, so that I can take them with me and stuff and stitch them. Am taking knitting too.

We are only staying 2 nights, possibly three, but feel like we'll have more stuff than we took for a week away!

    Time for another coffee :D.

    HI A*M

Gosh, once again I didn't realise how long it's been since I had a good catch up ... you've been away, come back and gone again in that time, as well as established an admirable CS haul and started your Xmas crafting! I totally agree with GG's comment about the quality of your charity shops ... it's the prices you pay for things which also astounds me, our local ones seem to charge more than some of the cheaper brand high-street shops, and I never, ever find yarn! Well done there!

Good to see you don't intend standing still throughout September ... are you still looking forward to your extra day at home for your new routine?

I hope rain doesn't stop play too much for your trip ... it's still miserable and wet as anything here! Hope you have fun anyway and a good catch up with your mum!

    Safe travels! x
