I shall be making dd an advent calendar this year - using a sheet fot the base fabric and then 25 pockets to put a choc in.
14 bunnies to go - until we add more names to the list...!
Think dd is finally asleep - she kmows dh is out and always takes longer those mights!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Glad DD is Ok and had a happy return to school ... expressive dance, sounds like the old "musical movement" they used to make us do at primary ... they couldn't call it dance because then the boys would refuse to do it! To be honest they might just as well have called it "prance around in your undies as if it's a cold morning and you're freezing in this hall" ... much closer to the reality of the event!
Well done on the cycling, I imagine you in that aerodynamic, triathlete type pose as you weave (the right way) through the traffic to get to DD!
Excellent result on the tree / garden too ... will you be going for a more full-on grow your own approach come the spring?
Happy Friday, I expect you have a to do list somewhere ....? xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hello Hbbb!
No to do list as I overslept and it has been all systems go until now!
Got dd to school - tears from waking to going through the door. But mummy wasn't giving in! Especially as she informed me that she was ok to come with me to collect the doll.... So I had a chat with her teacher, saying to contact me if nec - guess what? No call thus far...
So, done so far:
- sch run
- collect dolly
- wander round some shops ON MY OWN (purchases list below)
- have a coffee in pr3t - 99p - and chill and ponder
- buy deodorant - urgent!
- look at hair slides
- peruse 99p shop
I had a great mooch in the 99p shop. Having gone in to look for toothpaste and a knife sharpener, I got both, plus: socks and tights and sprinkles (g-f of course!) for dd for Cmas, cupcakes cases and labels for a friend for Cmas, milk, popcorn, cashews, coffee.
And on the way back I walked from the interchange (partly for the exercise, but mainly because I had only 60p left on my Oyster!), and put £10 on thr Oyster, then collected dd's bread. Daft ol' me! 2 boxes of bread to carry, as well as all the rest! Boy was I glad to get home.
Purchases all stowed in their rightful cupboard or hiding place, a wash put on, a super tough workout completed (5 ninja tuck jump, 10 each elevated bridge, 5 plyo push up, 10 each 1-leg and 1-arm crab, 5 each 1-leg BURPEE! Do it 4 times), and lunch consumed.
Crafting isn't happening too much this month. I am enjoying the challenge of the bunnies, but the table I use has been overwhelmed with my gubbins, so I MUST tidy that first.
However, will put on a coffee first, whilst LLL is on the telly, then spend the 5 mins brew time on that table.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Table is sort of cleared.
2 hearts with hearts to put on them cut out.
3 spotty bags and handles cut out.
2 sets of arms and legs sewn onto bunnies. (still need eyes and noses).
Washing hung up outside - wowzer it's hot!
Hbbb - I'm not quite in the streamlined triathlete pose :rotfl:, but I do try to keep my dignity. No manic pedalling to try to get to the lights, or swerving in and out of the cars. Apparently I burned over 1200 cal yesterday on the cycling. Seems a tad too much to me!
Aha! Best go and collect the shingly one. MUST take new dolly too - have veary strict instructions about that!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
One of the things I bought yesterday was a pack of 8 plastic trays with lids. Actually, prob not 'trays' as such, more like'containers'. Anyhow, I got them with a view to making sweeties to put in them for presents: peppermint creams, potato candy (never made it but it sounds very yummy!)
ANd someone posted a link to an 3bay page where there was little pack of bits to make a snowman - marshmallows, etc. So I am thinking of making a similar thing for all of dd's class. If it isn't too fiddly.
Dd is at the itchy scratchy stage now, which is tough. Must buy more Piriton...
Well, we are off to ballet soon - tap is still considered 'too much, too noisy'. One out of two isn't bad! She wants to stop doing tap, but also wants to do the exam - promised for before the summer; now at the start of November. Or 'a 100 years away in real life' according to dd!
Best get dressed myself...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

While I took dd to ballet, dh drilled into the stumps and put on a packet of tree stump killer. Job done!
Now I can give the 3 apple trees and 2 blackcurrant bushes a good cut back. Am also considering asking lovely neighbour's OH if he can bring home some wood for me to replace the edges of my 'growing area'. I'd like to re-shape it, shove the compost bin contents on it, and have a think of what to plant.
Although it is the sunniest part of the tiny garden, it still has 6 months without direct sunshine. Am thinking of trying out the 'high cost' things from the shops. So not tatties or onions! It is where 2 apple trees and the b'currant bushes reside, plus where the rasps are supposed to grow. So there's not a huge amount of space... My dad was trying to offload a set of garden shelves on my mum - who is perfectly happy with what she already has - so I've put in a bid to 'look after' them. That would give 3x the space - prob for pots. Once the rasps stop fruiting, then I'll raze them and have a better idea.
My dad has a vegetable plot that is bigger than our whole garden! Would love that! I'd put 4' posts in the corners and have gooseberry or blackcurrant bushes there. And I'd follow his 3-year rotation schedule. But not his choice of veg - the year of marrow, broad beans and brussels was never my favourite!
Oops! Time to feed dd!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
£49.02 is what I have paid off the mortgage so far this month.
I want to keep on paying over the Tilly Tidies and any savings I make on shopping.
My pay will enable me to easily put £200 to both the mortgage and savings. But I want that figure to be as near £400 to each as a I can- that is how much was the 'easy' figure before dropping a day's work. (But CANNOT put a price on that extra day with dd). So I need to reach a total of £400.
I've been looking on the 1% thread, and my 1% is a simple £4 for this. I am therefore at 12%. Not bad!
And dd owes me £6 for the doll, so I'll pay that over too!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Oops, here I am again with more ponderations! Went to buy milk - walked the 15 mins each way to aldee, as the c00p want 45p more for the same thing.
On the way I decided to put £200 into savings at the end of the month, but up to £600 to the mortgage, instead of a 50/50 split. So the extra motivation to save and not spend and do TTs is to be able to stick out my tongue at the bank and pay them less interest.
In other news, dd has finished the medicine so we must keep a beady eye on her back, to make sure new spots don't appear.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
And I can't add up! I'd also paid over £188 at the start of the month, that I somehow missed when adding up!
So, total paid over thus far: £243.02, so a whopping 40%. Go me!
Am realising why I usually just look at things at the end of the month! Too darned complicated, this ongoing malarkey!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
