Dd shed quite a few tears this morning, as she was feeling grotty. So we agreed that I would try to come home early. I managed it, and she was at lovely neighbour's house on her own - the other 2 girls had gone to the other girl's house, but my dd didn't want to go, so had stayed there for some peace and quiet. She's perked up tremendously since coming home, which is good.

Got most paperwork done at work. Brought 2 bits home and if I can do an hour on it tomoorrow, that should see it finished.

Got the nitty gritty stuff done, which was satisfying.

Now got a day off! So here comes a list:
    - school run
    - aldee shop - walk not bus
    - return library map
    - workout
    - whites wash
    - 1 hour paperwork
    - email auntie
    - cut our some hearts
    - finish a few bunnies completely
    - make soup
    - check governor dates and write on the calendar
    - get out for a bike ride and test my legs on hills!
    - get out all presents and allocate for Cmas/bday/ ch shop
    - make savoury bites
    - go blackberrying
    - bank coins and a cheque - walk, not bus

Today has been another NSD, so 2/2 so far.

A bag has been dropped at the Sally Army, so a £2 credit to pay off the mortgage. Will go and do that now.

    I want a tag-along bike thingy!! Now!!

Despite not yet having ventured out on my 2-wheeler, I seem to have the urge to turn iti to a 3-wheeler, in a linear sort of way!

However, having successfully carved out another NSD and put back the most gorgeous lovely beautiful hiking socks, I shall make myself SELL the child bike seat before I BUY the tag along thingy.

And I shall also take myself out on my 2 wheels for a spin first.

Dd, still full of cold, was asleep at a record 8.25pm today. :j School for her tomorrow, but she seems blase about it all. I get to take her as I'm not working, so that's good.

  • Dd woke up herself around 7.15, which always makes for a better start to the day! So she logged about 11 hours of sleep :j.

I was also asleep early,by about 9.15! Went straight to sleep and don't think I woke up at all.

So, school run done, bank stuff done (and the equivalent paid off the mortgage, and once the cheque clears, I'll move it over too - £13.96 - go me!), aldee shop done, including shopping for neighbour.

And I walked it all - including returning with 8 pints of milk in the rucksack. I didn't know I'd be buying that much milk as neighbour onlytexted while I was out! In fact, I didn't take my Oyster card, so I would HAVE to walk back.

Washing is out and am now enjoying a pre-workout mug of coffee.

Total paid over so far= £217.66. Not to be sniffed at!

So, some done, some not. I guess I always think I'll have loads of time when dd is at school, but it is 6 hours. And if I do a shop and a workout, that's easily 2+ hours gone. Then a shower. Then lunch!

Of course, I can still do stuff once she's back. But need everything ready for the next day by 8pm so that I can sit with her for as long as I'm needed without then having to do jobs afterwards. It does help me prioritise sometimes! And other times it just flusters me.

Soup and savoury bites can happen once dd is home, and I shall pop out now to see if there are any blackberries left. :D

Blackberrying is now officially over. Got a few but they were puny and somewhat squishy.

Savoury bites have been made and are scrummy! Soup has not been made.

Auntie has been emailed, which is good.

The workout was a toughie! Using a 25lb sandbag, 20x 10/50 , so 2x through: static lunge left; squat; static lunge right; squat; reverse push up; squat; knee raise; squat; crunch with sbag on ankles; squat. By the end of the second round, I was doing half as many squat reps as at the start! Jelly legs were a-quivering! :rotfl:

And here's me planning to cycle to school tomorrow! Dh is doing dd in the morning, but if I cycle, then he can have the car and then he won't have to work late and then use public transport to get home super late. Means I'll be a sweaty mass, mind you! I aim to try to leave early enough so as not to get too sweaty on the way in. I did leave clean clothes and shoes there on Tues, but no underwear, or wash stuff, deodorant, moisturiser...

For the 4th night on the trot, dd fell asleep before 9pm. Phew! She is now snoring for England, so the phrase 'filia stertit' can be applied. She enjoyed her 1st day back and likes her teacher.

Food shop was only £17.27. Result! Only because I did a shop on Sat, but weds is now my 'shopping day'.

    Off to beddiebyes myself.

No workout today - cycled to work instead and boy were my legs like jelly! According to my Garmin, I burned over 1000 (yep ONE THOUSAND) calories :j plus I forgot to switch it on for the first 10 or so mins of the return journey!

However, it has shown me that I can do it, and still be coherent enough to teach. I'm lucky that it is a day where I teach a y8 class twice, and have doubles with y12 and y13, and 2 frees. That's why I opted to try it out.

I've also learned a little more of what to take/not take in with me. I'd left clothes on Tues, plus sandals, so that was less. But I must remember to do that every week!

May be off to the land of pound tomorrow - on the bus this time, not cycling again - to look for bungy thingys, as well as a general mooch for present ideas. I can do the lands of pound and 99p, Wilk0, Ch shops, b00kworld. All on my own - bliss!

Or I may be incapable of walking and have to stay on the sofa all day...:)

In other news, I'm on day 3 or no sugar, have acquired another NSD, will have had over 10 veggies and have done over 10k steps too.

So, thus far, I 'owe' the pot £14 in September. :D

Another night where I couldn't get to sleep, and then kept having weird dreams. Ugh.

So, a list is required for today:
    - school run
    - washing
    - washing up
    - workout
    - emails to work
    - find document
    - crafting - sew up hearts
    - cut out more hearts
    - bunnies
    - make coleslaw
    - make soup
    - return dd's book to the library
    - photo my stepper and post for sale
    - get string/twine

Have decided not to go to shops. It would be nice to mooch on my own, but I'm not in the mood. I've promised a visit to the D1sney st0re tomorrow anyway.

Gosh, my brain isn't functioning too coherently today! Maybe I should just stay home!

A pretty good thus far, eh?

Dd was crying and didn't want to go to school this morning. However, she did trot in ok.

I returned her library book, to discover my friend was working there this morning, so we had a lovely chat. I also came away with 5 crafty books, but having been through them, there's not much of use.

Found garden twine in the cupboard, which was a bonus. Saves spending some pennies and means I can keep spend-free.

I didn't take my Oyster with me again - nor my purse! That way I could only go to the library, and would have to walk both ways.

The workout was short and intense- as usual! It involved loads of sandbag squats, and dive bombers, sumo push up, tricep leg lift, and other push ups. I was tempted to avoid doing a workout, but decided that I'll take tomorrow off. That way I can look forward to it!

Off to do some sewing - after getting a coffee!

My poor dd. Her stinking cold is mending, but she has had a bizarre outbreak of eczema across her mid back and one side. The hydrocortisone doesn't seem to be doing much, and she cries out in pain.

And she fell off her scooter, bashing her mouth and producing rather a lot of blood. Thank goodness for wet flannels!

But in all this, she is such a stoical little thing. :D

We had a lovely spendy day today - after a visit to the d1sney st0re of course - where we bumped into a lovely friend.

The W0rks provided yellow paint with which to paint the roof of the cardnoard playhouse from gdad, a bk for a friend for Cmas, some gorjusssss buttons and a sticker book.

Land of £ was also forthcoming, and Pret was a welcome pause. H&B provided a bogof on coconut oil, and a ch shop yielded up slippers for me for Cmas, a bu1ldabear for dd for her bday and a 'spare' scooter, since dd keeps nicking mine. (tho twasn't mine she fell off today).

So, nowt extravagant, but if we went every week, or even every fortnight, we could spends a huge amount each month!

Finished 6 hearts :j, and cut out 4 more, plus bunny arms, legs and ears for 2 bunnies.

Tilly Tidied my bank account. And will need to do so again, once the coconut oil purchase has gone through.

Sugar free day 6, and also a welcome day off exercise. Think I'll be keeping dd off church tomorrow, although dh - who now has dd's stinker of a cold - has to go to do PA.

Dd is now asleep, so am off to sit downstairs, like a grown-up!

Keeping dd at home was the right thing to do today. She is now watching Toy Story3 for the second time today - not like her at all, she is usually bouncing around on her hopper, then going out to play.

And I am reading mrmoneymustache's posts, finding them pretty inspirational! I started from his very first post, but am skipping a few along the way.

Did another workout this morning - a bodyweight one. 18x10/30: jump split squat - left; right; elbow plank side hop; exploding star (deep squat jump to a star in mid-air); pendulum; bicycle. All good fun indeed! :j

I like MMM's approach that not spending is better than saving/investing. Or at least, that is how I'm reading it! Maybe because I feel that I am better at not spending and being frugal, than making money and investing.

I really like the idea of 'are you able to live on 30%, 40%, 50% of your current income?'

Off to make frozen coconut macadamia bars. Yummy!
