Currently, I think that the worst situation ( for me) would be to have to go in to work to teach the exam classes, but to also have do everyone else online from the building. That's the selfish side of me because I'd much rather teach from home - not sure the sch wifi could cope with multiple lessons going on as it already struggles with the sound for one staff meeting with no video.... However, I also think that it is sooo important to give the exam classes the best we can...If I can work from home, my y10 and above would all have live lessons with me as much as possible. They need the structure and TLC that you get with that. Asking them to learn independently is a big ask.So, we'll see what is announced later...PS have been spending several hours each day recently planning up to half term. So in one way, I am as prepared as I can be.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Well I'm not having my worst situation! Now teaching all classes from home and starting every lesson with a live 15+ mins.Took dd out this afternoon to meet a friend and walk. I also walked and carried on walking once they'd gone to sit in the car because they were just so cold. All in all, I walked for about 75 mins and had a lovely chat with an elderly couple on my last circuit. No school-in-the-building for 7 weeks. I kinda feel like I have the opportunity to do something with that time. Only, I have no idea what!!! I'll especially have extra morning time as I won't have to travel. And if I set things up correctly, I shouldn't get overloaded with marking... It took me a week or two to get into the swing of it last time, so I'm half prepared for it to be a bit bumpy at first...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

I can understand the urge to do something and not being sure quite what. What do you fancy?2023: the year I get to buy a car1

Ooph. Done my first day teaching online. To be honest, it was a really easy set of kids. But I'm still all oophed out!Dd has had a full day of it, so I'm relegated to working from the sofa unless she has PE.Dh kept wandering in and out and has realised that he'll have to time his lunch break at the same time as us! Oh 'eck - he'll have to sit with us...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

But I know that that needs planning, and I have no plan! That said, so far I am more or less achieving my 54321 stuff:Lunch has been a hefty portion of 'coleslaw' (cabbage, onion, cauli, carrot, sultana, evoo (ha ha spell check changed this to evil!), apple cider vinegar) with a tin of fish or chunk of cheese. And this seems to mean that I snack less in the hour or two before tea. And I'm also getting at least 2 bits of veg for tea too.I'm getting about 4 bottles of water down my neck if I start early enough, as I tend to ease off after about 7pm, for practical reasons...!The 3 choc bars are no bother! At 85%, they feel quite virtuous...I'm getting an exercise session in every day and have moved on to Chloe Ting's 28 ( not 21 as I'd thought) day flat tum challenge - I scoped it out and there's a good mix of workouts, not just belly ones, so decided to give it a go.I'd love to be able to run 10 miles but can't even do 1 without stopping yet...Losing several stone would be awesome, but not quite achievable in 7 weeks, methinks. Again, this needs a plan. And consistency. 1 stone gone by the end of half term would be fantastic.Today has shown me how easy it is to not get many steps in now that I'm teaching online. At least in the building there's plenty of walking to be done. So that is something to work on...Anyhow, time for bed said zebedee. Up by 6 to try to do my workout before dragging dd to the land of the awake people at 6.45...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

Ooph. Having been online teaching, most of the time from 8.50 until 12.50, I'm all worn out. I need to adapt my plans so that I'm not so oophed at the end of it.Yikes to what has happened in the USA. I started reading some of the news early on and then have only now caught up.Ooh, don't know how I managed to use a larger font!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Ah! The increased font size didn't show up once the comment was posted. Weird...

Humans are *deeply* weird. And awful, sometimes.apple_muncher said:Ooph. Having been online teaching, most of the time from 8.50 until 12.50, I'm all worn out. I need to adapt my plans so that I'm not so oophed at the end of it.
That's important, isn't it - one solid slog will exhaust you more than if you had two sessions that ended up giving you the same length. Humans are weird.Yikes to what has happened in the USA.
