Of course it'll all be better by Easter...

I only woke up at 9am and have done very little! I got a breath of fresh air by opening the door to shake out a rug, and that's it! We have done church online and watched Maleficent and The (animated) Grinch.
I hope to get up to more tomorrow...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2 -
Decided to do a bit of washing up this morning whilst waiting for dd's bacon to cook. Then my thumb started hurting - I'd managed to slice it a bit, either on a knife or on a can, on the side, right at the top. It doesn't half throb! So, of course, today is the day I want to craft, isn't it! I have been able to make 14 mini penguin bodies, by covering my thumb with 3 plasters. Though they don't last long - the plasters of my childhood were mega sticky and lasted for days!Another super lazy day, compounded by dd being a bit under the weather. But we did get out for a walk yesterday in between the showers. Dh went out early to aldee for the last shop we should need this week. Said it was like a busy Sat morning in there... So I'm glad he went and not me.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Cor, it's nearly next year.Best get on with some plotting and planning...Might go back to my 'health, wealth and a life well-lived' categories...I'll certainly start off teaching online for a few days, and that may be extended or dipped in and out of, depending on how things change. And it may be from home or from the school building - if we're teaching face to face exam classes then it'll be in the building for them; but if they get sent home, it could be more piece-meal, as only the covidified ones stay home and the rest get regular tests... All other year groups start off at home... For now...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

It's impossibly hard for you to make work plans right now, apple, isn't it - heaven only knows what the situation will be by the time we get to 4th January or whatever.2023: the year I get to buy a car2

We keep hearing about how important it is to keep kids in school - totally agree. But there has to be a huge BUT in with that. Don't 'guarantee' something for 2 weeks from now... Don't say you are protecting pupils + teachers when you are only adding to their workload with last- minute 'guidance' to implement NOW... And expecting schools to administer tests themselves... And not allowing local govt to make sensible decisions...Hopefully positive numbers in 11-18year olds will drop over the hols. After all, the expected explosion amongst students at uni didn't really materialise (or maybe it just wasn't reported...)It's such an uncontrolable subject/situation, that I've learned to focus on what I can control and try not to stress about the rest. Teachers are super flexible, so as long as I have a plan, I can amend and adapt it as we go along. And because dh basically works from home, we are covered for if I'm in the building but dd is at home. And we have our jobs, and security financially. It may not always be that way, but it is for now, so no point fretting about future 'what ifs'Wittering on again! No plots or plans happening as yet - just watching recorded episodes of big bakes!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Well put, apple - it's good to step back and see the big picture sometimes. And chilling with some comfy tv is a good idea too

I have made a version of tiffin/rocky road for dd, BNS + pepper soup, and energy balls. Broke the hand zapper on these - oops, so the soup will be very lumpy as there's only so much a potato masher can do...
