Cath - we are incredibly fortunate in that dd's school has an amazing home-learning system. The pupils basically missed nothing under the first lockdown, and since returning in Sept, have all taken a device in to school and many of the lessons have been online in the classroom. Not necessarily for the whole lesson, but the majority of them have used it at some point each day. It does make for a heavy school bag, though! And I've learned loads form being with her as she did her classes first time around.I hope the Boris keeps school open again, esp as he has said that exams will happen in the summer - though given the rise of positive cases in 11-18s down here, he may have to backtrack - cos we know that it's only when things get tougher down here that he does anything. S*d the rest of the country...Personally I think that the opening up the country to unlimited travel for 5 days is just asking for disaster in the ensuing weeks. Surely we could all have foregone just one Christmas... Equally, I'm aware that I am blessed to have my family here with me, a job, a safe home/Enough wittering... for now...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

If only!I think she had to invent a new element for the periodic table...She's back to real-time but online school for this week, so I don't know how she is supposed to hand it in as it's on paper... But everyone - including staff - only had v v v short notice about moving online after the weekend, so I guess it was set before that. So, I have to go to work and dd's at home along with dh today. Not long to the end, now.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

Ooph. Although I had a great day with the pupils, and some excellent converstions with y9s, I do feel quite battered and squashed by the day. So I am very glad not to be in work tomorrow. Dd also dealt with a lot today - g00gle glitching affecting her classes for a bit (they use g00gle classroom). Plus me not being around. Plus dh having to be working on my school carol service upstairs on the pc. So she was very much on her own. Then tier 3 hits, with the implications of not seeing her friends before cmas.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

Greenwich. Rising positive cases, esp amongst 11-18s. A decision to move to home learning for 4 bl**dy days brings about the threat of legal action by the govt. Despicable. Schooling may be a 'priority' for this govt, but didn't they also say how an increase in the 11-18s now will have a knock-on effect for oldies in a few weeks. So s*d the oldies, too.Sigh.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1
