1 punnet of grapes1 apple1 banana1 mango1 yellow pepper1 cauli1 iceberg lettuce1 tomato1 pack of 2 romaine lettuce2 satsumas2 onions3 carrots5 potatoes20 (I kid you not!) leeksI nipped in to lidl as I was up that way at the gym this morning, to see if they had any of their famous £1.50 f+v boxes. And they did! So I chose 2, but failed to notice the gazillion bags of leeks in one of them - thought it was just 2, like the other box... I got 2 boxes, with the intention of giving 1 to my neighbour, then it hit me on the drive home: this is the woman who gives us food that is 1 day before its 'best before' or 'use by' date as she won't eat it. So no way is she gonna want a f+v box with not-quite-so-pristine stuff in it...Currently, there is a leek + potato soup bubbling away (used the onions, carrots, 3 potatoes + about 6 of the leeks). The rest ofthe leeks will just have to be chopped and frozen. It's typical that I acquire this food the day after I did a big food shop!!Anyway, off up the road to the ch shops with dd now.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

Another good stash from the ch shop, including 'matching' non-vans lace-up pumps for both dd and me
. Spent £12.
Then a visit to the newsagents and a news mag for dd + the Cmas double edition of the RT - just put out, so perfect timing. While dd danced this afternoon, I took 2 bags to the Sally Army and in another ch shop, spent £10, 5 of which was for a pair of gorgeous shoes for dd, BNWT!Had a crafterz00m with big sis + others, and made 4 acorn-capped snowmen. Then I could finally watch some rugby - Georgia v Fiji. Boy, those Fijian boys are massive!Back to church tomorrow, in person. I'm on kids klub and dh is doing the PA. Then home for hwk (dd) and marking (me).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2 -
Acorn-capped snowmen! Yay!2023: the year I get to buy a car1

I'm glad I remembered to collect suitable acorns when they were plentiful, karma. They'd all be mush if I were doing it now!Just 5 more working days left for me... I want to start wearing my Elf jumper that has a massive bell on the end of a massive hood... You'll always hear me coming when I'm wearing it, so no sneaking along the corridors!Dh has just finished parcelling up and paying postage for the boxes of presents to far-flung family. It has cost us oh so much. Sigh. It was only on the final box that we found out that by reducing the box size, we could reduce the cost by £10. Wow. So dh set to work with scissors and parcel tape and at least we saved money on that one. Anyhow, next year we shall be smarter and seek out etsy-style places in their countries to use.I've watched lots of rugby today, and the England-France match was a belter!Chatted with some friends v briefly after church, and they're getting a bit fed up with the restrictions. I'm not! It may be that we don't thrive on being with other people. Or that we do spend a lot of time with others as part of our life (ie in schools) so don't need extra human contact. Or that we don't go out a lot to theatre/cinema/restaurants, and thus do not miss it - so long as we can buy food and go to charity shops, we are exceedingly happy.I'm thinking of running a film club at sch next term, for the y8 girls, called 'the black and white film club' and we can watch old St Trinians films. We'd only get about 25-30 mins max (lunchtime) so it'd take a while to watch them.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

That postage is a pain! I'm lucky as I'm hardly paying any postage this year, most of the presents I've bought are being delivered to my sister, hopefully in time for me to wrap them personally when I go over there for my personal Christmas
As for the restrictions, I'm bored with them, but I'd rather not have long covid (or die, actually!). I'll cope, till we can get on with our lives.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
I love your posts, so random with poo rubbers and elephant shirts! I'm giggling!
Glad your pension meeting was good.Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k1 -
We had another bombshell dropped on us at work yesterday. But it's a secret, so I can't divulge it.. and I'll possibly have forgotten about it once we are allowed to tell...Very pleased with myself for doing a tough workout today. During the warm up, my left knee hurt with the different jumps - but I could run on the spot with it ok - so I changed to a different workout. I wanted to use the 8k kettlebell, but it was nowhere to be found, so I upped it to use the 12k and then 20k ones. Smug face is on. Until I can't move tomorrow...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3
