Of the 406, 160 was on dh's kids and 65 on hampers, neighbour and choc for colleagues. Leaving 180 for the rest, including dd, dh and my sister. But not counting whatever dh spent...:D
Today, dd and I went out to scour the ch shops to try to find some clothing for her ventriloquist dummy. We went in to 11 shops in 3 different areas (v glad buses are running) but came away with nothing. Dd is being very good - she'll only get an item when it is perfect. But we did get a lampshade for dd's room, 8 Thomas books for gs's bday (May) and 3 items of clothing for me. Total: 8.50. And we found a fiver in the street!!!
I have baked a batch of muffins/cakes using a mix I got for cmas. It's made 12 cakes, so if I'm sensible and I freeze them, then dd can have them for puddings. If I'm not sensible, then dd will get 1 or 2 and I'll scoff the rest...:rotfl:.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dd's not so keen on the cake texture. So it'll be up to me to consume them. Tough, huh?
She went ice sking at somerset house yesterday, with the youth group, then back to the church for mad games, tea and Home Alone, and loved every single minute of it. And while she was out, dh and I had lunch with some friends, and we also loved every single minute of it.
Bizarrely, when I drove home, there were 2 pieces of metal (prob 2'x4'?) in the road near our garage. So I avoided driving over them, then went to investigate once I'd parked. They are indeed slabs of metal, with a viewer oblong near the top, and one has s.w.a.t. on the back. They are both rather grafitti-ed and battered, but there was no sign of any disturbance or damage in the area where I found them. So, do we take them down to the local police station? Or to the tip...?
I have been perusing the 20 20s for 2020 thread, and jotting down some ideas for myself. I'm currently on 14. I'm hyper aware that I've had nearly 2 weeks off work, and still have another week to go. Therefore, I'm supremely likely to overestimate my time availability and my own abilities :rotfl:.
I've set up the NST Jan challenge. Though halfway through I have my op, so some of my usual activities will be reduced.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
8.48.
The time I woke up this morning.
Oops.
(Although that was afyer waking at 5 after a horrible dream and struggling to doze off again, and even considering getting up at 6 to go for a run. But I obviously did fall asleep again.)
Dd and I went to 6 other ch shops and she managed to find a jacket for her ventriloquist dummy. For 50p! I found 2 items for her bday, plus a tshirt for dh and only paid £3.50 as I used £6 SA credit.
We both sat and did an hour of school work. Dd worked on her project and enjoyed it, and I did some prep. I still have a lot to do, so should try for 1 hour daily until I finish...
Tomorrow, dd has an early eye appt, so we plan to be up and out rather early. Hopefully at the d1sn3y store for 9 for the opening of the store, and definitely sp0cksavers for 9.40. Also the w0rks and m+s require a visit.
I bought some items off amzn this morning - 3 bks for dd's bday, a needlefelting book and a needlefelting stabber thingy that holds several needles.
Guess I ought to do some navel gazing, looking back at the year... Maybe... Perhaps... Better try to find my jan 2019 notebook to find what goals I set...:rotfl:NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

So does my 9 year old who hasn’t really got the physique for it. Think rugby player not gymnast :rotfl:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Dd defo has the physique for it! She is a gazelle, unlike me - think arthritic hippo! Dh has te physique, but is as stiff as a board.
She's read the first 4 Ruby Redfort books by Lauren Child (of Charlie and Lola fame) and has been inspired!
I've said that she'd have to give up dance to do this... (but only after the show in April that we have paid for, plus this term's classes!) Thus far, she is prepared to do that... But there is no parkour centre/training place within an hour's drive. So we shall watch some utube vids and go up to our local playground and have a go. Dh has said he'll try too.
Watch this space...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Oopsie, I've been explaining WSM to greent on my thread
I'd better go and alter that!
Finding the stabby things (for needlefelting) made me laugh :rotfl: You have *amazing* charity shops! CS way down south here are the same/slightly more than Primark - maybe I don't get out enough? Glad you've got them, anyway.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
